THE ECODESIGN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM – SUPPORTING ECODESIGN EDUCATION AS WELL AS ECODESIGN KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
INTERNATIONAL DESIGN CONFERENCE, 2004Co-Authors: Wim Dewulf, Joost R. DuflouAbstract:The Ecodesign Knowledge System, presented in this paper, makes use of four strategies to support the efficient retrieval of information: a classification in a number of knowledge types, a contextual indexing technique, a web of knowledge, and direct access to term definitions. The Ecodesign Knowledge System received very positive reactions from designers during demonstration sessions. However, due to its high Manpower Requirement for system maintenance, it is as a knowledge management system mainly suited for large enterprises with centralised ecodesign competence centres. On the other hand, SMEs can take advantage of an externally supplied Ecodesign Knowledge System, serving mainly as an ecodesign education and technology watch tool.

equipment support operation and maintenance Manpower Requirement forecasting model based on support activity flow
Journal of the Academy of Equipment Command & Technology, 2011Co-Authors: Zhang WenjinAbstract:In order to resolve the problems encountered in the process of forecasting operation and maintenance Manpower during the design and development phase, including the difficulty to collect the input data of the forecast models and their imprecise and unauthentic output results,an operation and maintenance Manpower forecasting model is established based on support activity flow described by functional flow diagrams. The typical mission of equipment is analyzed and the quantity of operation and maintenance support activities happened in the duration of the mission is calculated on the basis of the typical mission's data and equipment's reliability data. The man's working hours and maximum number required by the bottom support activities of the functional flow diagrams are calculated.A bottom-up approach to sum the total man' working hours and maximum number by the operation and maintenance support in the duration of the mission is presented. At last, the proposed model is demonstrated via a practical case of aircraft, which proved that the model is corrective and effective.

forecasting the educational structure of occupations a Manpower Requirement approach with substitution
Labour, 1993Co-Authors: Lex Borghans, Hans HeijkeAbstract:ABSTRACT: Manpower Requirement forecasts are usually based on the assumption that discrepancies between supply and demand do not lead to adjustment processes at the labour market. We show, however, that even if the market mechanism functions completely, Manpower Requirement forecasts remain important information. On this basis, a Manpower Requirement approach is developed which incorporates the possibility of substitution processes at the labour market.

transform occupational Requirements to educational qualification the critical step of Manpower Requirements forecasting applying to educational planning
Education in science, 2007Co-Authors: Mao JianqingAbstract:If we want to apply Manpower Requirement forecasting to educational planning, the critical step is how to transform the future occupational Requirements to Manpower Requirements who have all kinds and levels of education. It is a very difficult task, but we are able to realize it.The approaches of transformation include trend extrapolation, international comparisons approach and employee interview survey and so on.
