Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) : snippet
2008Co-Authors: R.c. DavisonAbstract:Organic? Organic in the sense that they utilise a carbon-hydrogen-based structure, like us, versus a silicon-based structure for the LEDs that we've been familiar with over the last several decades. This organic film can be deposited in thin layers on many types of materials in a process that is more like printing on paper as opposed to the complicated process for Manufacturing Standard LEDs and integrated circuits.

Bracing scoliosis: the evolution to CAD/CAM for improved in-brace corrections
Hard Tissue, 2013Co-Authors: Hans-rudolf Weiss, M Moramarco, Sarah Seibel, Alexander KlebanAbstract:computer-aided design/computeraided Manufacturing braces leads to better in-brace corrections than many cast-made braces, and also better in-brace corrections when comparing to computer-aided design/ computer-aided Manufacturing braces as published. Conclusion Symmetric braces are outdated. Asymmetric braces allow better in-brace correction when compared to symmetric braces. Asymmetric braces according to the actual, Best Practice® computer-aided design/ computer-aided Manufacturing Standard allow for improved in-brace corrections promising the best possible radiological and cosmetic end results. Future studies on in-brace corrections and outcomes on brace treatment should use the Scoliosis Research Society inclusion criteria for bracing to improve comparability.

Developmental of the automobile covering die design Standard system based on PRO/E
Forging and Stamping Technology, 2005Co-Authors: Tan Yong-mingAbstract:Mould design is an important part of automotive development and its quality and efficiency reflect the competitiveness of a company. In order to improve automotive mould design technology, an automotive covering mould design Standard system which suits for the needs of Chinese company is developed. The system uses Pro/E as its CAD platform, VC as its compiler, Access as its data management platform and Pro/TOOLKIT as its application development interface. It consist of the following parts: Mould design Manufacturing Standard、stamping process DL、foundry structure design、extruded mould design、modified mould design、forming mould design and expert design emendation, which provides both design theory and knowledge support for the designer. It can also conveniently handle formula calculation in design process. Utilizing automotive covering mould design Standard system, we can Standardize mould design, shorten mould design cycle and improve design quality. This paper thoroughly illustrates the overall structure and development technology of automotive mould design Standard system。

Progress towards safety Standards for intense light sources used in medical and aesthetic practice
International Laser Safety Conference, 2009Co-Authors: John O’hagan, Marina KhazovaAbstract:An international Manufacturing Standard and user guidance for medical lasers have been available for some years. Particularly in the aesthetic sector, intense light sources are being used in place of lasers. This is seen as an option with less regulation in some countries.Working Group 4 of the International Electrotechnical Commission Technical Committee 76 has drafted a Manufacturing Standard: IEC 60601-2-57: Medical electrical equipment - Part 2-57: Particular requirements for the safety and essential performance of non-laser light source equipment intended for therapeutic, diagnostic, monitoring and cosmetic/aesthetic use. The objectives and requirements of this draft Standard will be outlined. To support users of intense lights in these sectors, a user’s guide has been prepared for discussion: Safety of intense light source equipment – Guidelines for the safe use of intense light source equipment on humans and animals. This parallels IEC TR 60825-8 for medical laser use.An international Manufacturing Standard and user guidance for medical lasers have been available for some years.
