    Textile Research Journal, 2014
    Co-Authors: Qin Yimi
    Abstract:

Medical Textile materials belong to a type of functional Textile products with special properties and end uses, which are widely used in many fields, whose production technologies involve many disciplines such as Textile, material, and Medical science, and makes them one of the most technically sophisticated and highest value added industries. In order to formulate the right research and development strategy during the development of Medical Textile materials, this paper first analyzed the characteristics of the Medical Textile Industry. Based on the classification of product markets, research and development strategies and market positioning principle of products applicable to various markets were then introduced. Taking into consideration of the characteristics of Medical Textile materials,a practical route for research and development was proposed, which has great significance in guiding successful development of Medical Textile materials.
