Spontaneous regression has been well described in infants, especially in those with stage 4S and those with low-stage neuroblastoma detected by screening. However, neuroblastoma presenting with intracranial Metastasis is generally considered to need a postoperative chemotherapy. Here, we report a 3-month-old girl with stage 4 neuroblastoma presenting with spontaneous regression of metastatic tumor including Meningeal Metastasis after gross resection of primary tumor. Further investigation may be required to detect patients of this kind without the need of postoperative chemotherapy regardless of their stage at diagnosis.

This Metastasis was diagnosed on a left hemiparesis and treated by surgery and radiation therapy. One year later, the same symptoms led to another brain MRI examination that found a contrast-enhanced lesion in the operating site. We decided to perform a F-DOPA PET/MRI to document this lesion, which confirmed the diagnosis of a probable relapse and revealed a focal uptake on the bone flap.

Detection of Meningeal Metastasis in the Cerebrospinal Fluid in Lung Adenocarcinoma: Case Report.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) harvested from the CSF, using CellSearch® technology, are used for ARMS analysis. This may further enhance the sensitivity and effectiveness of the diagnosis of Meningeal metastases and may be a preferred detection method protocol for liquid biopsy of non-small cell lung cancer with Meningeal Metastasis. In this case report, we have studied a rare case of EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma with a point mutation in exon 21 (L858R) in a 54-year-woman with Meningeal Metastasis after gefitinib treatment for approximately 1 year. The patient was receiving treatment with osimertinib at the time of this study. This study shows that the detection of circulating tumor DNA or CTC in CSF, via next-generation sequencing or digital PCR, is a promising diagnostic method for the identification of Meningeal Metastasis.

Treatment of Meningeal Malignancy.
The oncologist, 1996Co-Authors: Stacey L. Berg, David G. PoplackAbstract:Meningeal Metastasis from cancer has become an increasingly frequent problem as the treatment of systemic disease improves. Leukemia, lymphoma and solid tumors may all metastasize to the meninges, where the blood-brain barrier may provide a sanctuary from cytotoxic concentrations of chemotherapeutic agents. Because Meningeal disease may be clinically silent or may present with unusual signs and symptoms, it is important to maintain a high index of suspicion for this problem. Diagnosis is usually made by cerebrospinal fluid cytologic testing, magnetic resonance imaging, or both. Treatment options include radiation therapy, systemic chemotherapy and intrathecal chemotherapy. Systemic therapy usually requires administration of either very high drug doses or prolonged infusions in order to overcome the poor penetration of most anticancer agents into the central nervous system. Thus, systemic toxicity is often a major drawback to this approach. Intrathecal chemotherapy results in delivery of anticancer agents directly into the cerebrospinal fluid, usually with minimal systemic toxicity. Intrathecal chemotherapy may be administered by lumbar puncture or by use of an Ommaya reservoir with the tip in the ventricle. Studies are under way to evaluate new agents for both systemic and intrathecal administration. Further research is required to overcome this difficult clinical challenge.
