vacuum properties of Mesons in a linear sigma model with vector Mesons and global chiral invariance
Physical Review D, 2010Co-Authors: Denis Parganlija, Francesco Giacosa, Dirk H RischkeAbstract:We present a two-flavor linear sigma model with global chiral symmetry and vector and axial-vector Mesons. We calculate {pi}{pi} scattering lengths and the decay widths of scalar, vector, and axial-vector Mesons. It is demonstrated that vector and axial-vector meson degrees of freedom play an important role in these low-energy processes and that a reasonable theoretical description requires globally chirally invariant terms other than the vector-meson mass term. An important question for meson vacuum phenomenology is the quark content of the physical scalar f{sub 0}(600) and a{sub 0}(980) Mesons. We investigate this question by assigning the quark-antiquark {sigma} and a{sub 0} states of our model with these physical Mesons. We show via a detailed comparison with experimental data that this scenario can describe all vacuum properties studied here except for the decay width of the {sigma}, which turns out to be too small. We also study the alternative assignment f{sub 0}(1370) and a{sub 0}(1450) for the scalar Mesons. In this case the decay width agrees with the experimental value, but the {pi}{pi} scattering length a{sub 0}{sup 0} is too small. This indicates the necessity to extend our model by additional scalar degrees of freedom.

vector and axial vector Mesons at nonzero temperature within a gauged linear sigma model
Physical Review D, 2008Co-Authors: Stefan Struber, Dirk H RischkeAbstract:We consider vector and axial-vector Mesons in the framework of a gauged linear sigma model with chiral U(N{sub f}){sub R}xU(N{sub f}){sub L} symmetry. For N{sub f}=2, we investigate the behavior of the chiral condensate and the meson masses as a function of temperature by solving a system of coupled Dyson-Schwinger equations derived via the 2PI formalism in double-bubble approximation. We find that the inclusion of vector and axial-vector Mesons tends to sharpen the chiral transition. Within our approximation scheme, the mass of the {rho} meson increases by about 100 MeV towards the chiral transition.

A Study of the $D_{sJ}^*(2317)^+$ and $D_{sJ}(2460)^+$ Mesons in Inclusive $c\bar{c}$ Production Near $\sqrt(s)$ = 10.6 GeV
Physical Review D, 2006Co-Authors: B. Aubert, D. Boutigny, Y. Karyotakis, J.p. Lees, V. Tisserand, R. Barate, M. Bona, F. Couderc, V. Poireau, A. ZghicheAbstract:A study of the $D_{sJ}^*(2317)^+$ and $D_{sJ}(2460)^+$ Mesons in inclusive $c\bar{c}$ production is presented using 232~${\rm fb}^{-1}$ of data collected by the BaBar experiment near $\sqrt{s} = 10.6$~\gev. Final states consisting of a $D_s^+$ meson along with one or more $\pi^0$, $\pi^\pm$, or $\gamma$ particles are considered. Estimates of the mass and limits on the width are provided for both Mesons and for the $D_{s1}(2536)^+$ meson. A search is also performed for neutral and doubly-charged partners of the $D_{sJ}^*(2317)^+$ meson.

Graugès-pousAbstract:We report measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries of exclusive decays of neutral and charged $B$ Mesons into two-body final states containing a charmonium state and a light strange meson. The charmonium Mesons considered are $J/\psi$, $\psi(2S)$ and ${\chi}_{c1}$, and the light meson is either $K$ or $K^{*}$. Physical Review D, 2012Co-Authors: J.p. Lees, V. Tisserand, A. Palano, V. Poireau, J. Garra Tico, E. Grauges, M. Martinelli, D.a. Milanes, M. Pappagallo, G. EigenAbstract:We report a measurement of the inclusive semileptonic branching fraction of the B_s meson using data collected with the BaBar detector in the center-of-mass (CM) energy region above the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We use the inclusive yield of phi Mesons and the phi yield in association with a high-momentum lepton to perform a simultaneous measurement of the semileptonic branching fraction and the production rate of B_s Mesons relative to all B Mesons as a function of CM energy. The inclusive semileptonic branching fraction of the B_s meson is determined to be B(B_s to l nu X)=9.5 (+2.5/-2.0)(stat)(+1.1/-1.9)(syst)%, where l indicates the average of e and mu.
