  • theoretical analysis model for social stock of Metallic Substance
    Journal of Northeastern University, 2012
    Co-Authors: L U Zhongwu
    Abstract:

Combining Substance flow analysis and groups of products life cycle chains,a theoretical analysis model for social stocks of Metallic Substance was developed. It is concluded from the model that the social stocks of Metallic Substance and their net increments are closely related to the factors such as metal product consumption, annual variation rate of metal product consumption and service lives of metal products,i.e.,they will increase with the increase of the three factors. If the service lives of metal products are prolonged beyond average service lives, recycling rate of the social stocks will decrease.Analysis results can provide some reference for the decision making on industrial policies of metal industry.

  • analysis of social stocks of Metallic Substance
    Journal of Northeastern University, 2009
    Co-Authors: L U Zhongwu
    Abstract:

Social stocks of Metallic Substance determine the secondary or recoverable resources to a certain extent. Two methods are given for the social stocks to analyze theoretically the variation of social stocks of Metallic Substance with the assumption that the metal consumption presents linear or quadratic curves.Exemplifying the copper industry in China, the variations of social stocks of copper and its consumption in the period from 1950 to 2007 were analyzed and the results reveal that the social stocks have come into a quicker growth period since year 2000.Proposes the notion of average age of social stocks of metals and its calculating formula, and an analysis is made to the average age(aa) of copper products in social stocks in the period. It is found that aa of copper products in the period decreased gradually since 1988 and basically remained unchanged from 2005 to 2007,i.e.about 7.8 years.

  • numerical thermodynamic field modeling of a Metallic Substance during laser welding
Journal of achievements in materials and manufacturing engineering, 2006
    Co-Authors: L Achab, E H Amara, N Mebani, N Allalou, F Hamadi
    Abstract:

During the laser welding process by a laser source, the interaction of the laser beam with material induces very rapid heating and fusion of a thin layer of material near the surface, involving high temperatures which can lead to mechanical and metallurgical consequences occurring in the heat affected zone. The study of this process is necessary to predict the optimal conditions leading to the improvement of the quality of the joint of welding. The purpose of this paper is, to develop a simplified numerical model which predicts the molten zone thermodynamics, resulting from laser irradiation. The numerical study of the problem proposed allows us to predict the thermal and dynamic characteristics of the molten zone, as well as to relate the processing parameters to the form and dimension of the molten zone, and the effect of the laser speed welding and the laser power.

  • the effect of Metallic Substance on the read range of uhf passive rfid system
International Conference on Automation and Computing, 2011
    Co-Authors: Justin Champion
    Abstract:

Read Range is one of the important performance metric of passive RFID system. It depends on the parameters of both the reader and a tag. It also depends on the application environment. Passive RFID system is often used where a tag is tagged to a Metallic objects or are used where there are Metallic surfaces in the proximity. This paper gives how the Metallic surface affects the read range of UHF Passive RFID system. This was carried out to see how the Metallic plate in the proximity effect the reader and tag antenna parameters and how these parameters affect the read range. The effect on antenna parameters were studied under two cases. Firstly, using a Metallic plate at different distances from the antenna and secondly using plates of different sizes. The simulation of antenna was carried out in the NEC2D and the effect on read range is carried out in MATLAB. The work was carried out during my term of 20 months at Staffordshire University funded by e-link.
