AminabhaviAbstract:Densities, viscosities, and refractive indices at 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15 K and speed of sound values at 298.15 K have been presented for the binary mixtures of ethyl chloroacetate + benzene, toluene, 1,4-dimethylbenzene (p-xylene), 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (mesitylene), and Methoxybenzene (anisole). From the results of density, viscosity, and refractive index, the excess molar volume, deviations in viscosity, molar refractivity, speed of sound, and isentropic compressibility have been calculated. These results have been correlated by a polynomial Redlich−Kister polynomial equation to derive the coefficients and standard errors. Variations of these quantities have been displayed graphically.

AminabhaviAbstract:Experimental results of density, refractive index, and viscosity at 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15 K and speed of sound at 298.15 K are presented for the binary mixtures of cyclohexanone with benzene, methylbenzene, 1,4-dimethylbenzene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, and Methoxybenzene over the whole range of the mixture composition. From these data, excess molar volume, VE, deviations in molar refraction, ΔR, viscosity, Δη, speed of sound, Δu, and isentropic compressibility, ΔkS, have been calculated. These results are fit to a Redlich−Kister type polynomial equation. These results are further discussed in terms of the type of intermolecular interactions between the components.

The liquids chosen for the study include benzene, toluene, mesitylene, Methoxybenzene, chlorobenzene, nitrobenzene, bromobenzene and 1,2-dichlorobenzene at 30, 45 and 60 °C. The solvent uptake data have been obtained and the diffusion coefficients have been calculated from Fick's equation. The apparent values of activation parameters for the process of diffusion have been calculated and used in assessing the resistivity of polymers in the presence of the chosen organic liquids. Concentration profiles of the liquids have been calculated to predict the applicability of these materials under extreme service conditions.

From these data, excess molar volume, deviations in viscosity, speed of sound, isentropic compressibility, and Lorenz−Lorentz molar refractivity have been calculated. These results are fitted to the Redlich−Kister type polynomial of the third degree to derive the binary coefficients. The standard deviations are also estimated for the calculated and experimental data points.
