    Abstract:

    We report a patient with phenotypic semblance to the congenital Microgastria-limb reduction association (MLRD). Our patient presented with Microgastria, bilateral upper limb anomalies, asplenia, solitary kidney, and mild micrognathia. In addition to the anomalies seen in our patient, MLRD has been associated with respiratory, cardiovascular, and central nervous system anomalies. MLRD is thought to arise from a developmental field defect during embryonic weeks five and six; however, no genetic cause has been elucidated. Along with our patient presentation, we review the literature to further our understanding of the MLRD phenotype spectrum.

    In 1842 Robert1 reported the case of a girl with Microgastria; hypoplastic left forearm, hand, and wrist; and asplenia. Since that time, six additional patients with a similar pattern of malformation have been described.2-7 The purposes of this report are to describe three additional cases of the Microgastria-limb reduction complex which illustrate the clinical variability of this condition, to discuss overlap of this disorder with other malformation syndromes and associations, and to present evidence that suggests that the Microgastria-limb reduction complex represents a developmental field defect. CLINICAL REPORTS Patient 1 Patient 1 was evaluated at age 1 month for bilateral absent thumbs.

    En el presente trabajo se describe y se analiza la acción de un grupo de hiperparasitoides que atacan a los parasitoides Mastrus ridens y Ascogaster quadridentata introducidos en el valle para el control de Cydia pomonella. Se realizan comparaciones entre sitios colonizados en la temporada 2013-2014 y uno colonizado entre 2005 y 2007. También se analizan las variaciones de las tasas de ataque de los hiperparasitoides durante las estaciones del año. Se cita por primera vez a Eupelmus vesicularis y Eupelmus cushmani como parasitoides de las especies Mastrus ridens y Ascogaster quadridentata y a Dibrachys microgastri como parasitoide de Ascogaster quadridentata en la región del Alto Valle del Río Negro.In this contribution, we describe and analyze the action of a hiperparasitoid group that attack the parasitoids Mastrus ridens and Ascogaster quadridentata, both introduced in the valley for the control of Cydia pomonella. Comparisons are made between colonized sites in the seasons 2013-2014 and one colonized between 2005 and 2007. Variations of attack rate of the hiperparasitoids during the different seasons of the year are also analyzed.     Abstract:

    Congenital Microgastria is a rare condition associated with multiple associated anomalies. We present the first case of a newborn female patient diagnosed with isolated Microgastria caused by a vascular accident in utero with absence of the left gastric artery. The patient had a 2 month history of gastroesophageal reflux, postprandial emesis, diarrhea, and failure to thrive. It was sequentially treated with nutritional optimization via a Bishop-Koop type proximal jejunal feeding stoma, and subsequent Hunt-Lawrence gastric augmentation. The patient has recovered from surgery and caught up in terms of weight expectancy for age.
