The catches were carried out at depths of 200–4000 m by research cruises in 2002 and 2003, from Cabo Frio (22°52′S) to Laguna (28°28′S); and by hook selectivity experiments from 2004 to 2008, from Itajai (26°54′S) to Tramandai (29°59′S). Hook selectivity experiments indicated higher catches of stingrays with ‘J’ hooks (9/0, 10° offset) commonly used by the pelagic longline fleet than with ‘circle’ hooks (18/0, 10° offset). ‘circle’ hooks reduce the longline by-catches of this species. Most of the stingrays caught were males (6 : 1). One female aborted mid-term embryos at the time of capture. CPUE was highest between spring and autumn and lowest during winter.

Hj. Dorani, Malaysia between May and August 2010. Sapling establishment was achieved following the construction of segmented and hard breakwater as Mitigating Measure against coastal erosion. Geostructures known as brush faschines were installed within the restoration area as secondary sediment and seed traps. There was a steady increase in the sand content of the soil from 5% in November 2008 to 18% in May 2010. The dominant soil content was silt but it fluctuated and declined slightly over the same period, between 80% in November 2008 and 72% in May 2010. The accreting shoreline behind the breakwater had stabilised within 18 months. Subsequently, the first batch of A. marina wild seedlings or wildings was established on the mud surface in September 2009. Only about 10% of these wildings survived and showed high survival rate (90%) over the next eight months. Wildings that were naturally established near mother trees showed good growth performance. No wilding was established after the fruiting season in August 2010 as all seeds that were dispersed into the restoration area were washed away by September 2010. Tall, A. marina wild saplings (1 m) planted within the restoration area showed higher survival rate (80%) compared to planted saplings of Rhizophora apiculata (30%). Final planting of a thousand 1 m tall A. marina wild saplings was carried out from June 2010, in clumps of 20 and in 1 m × 1 m spacing. By the end of September 2010 clusters of regenerating A. marina mangroves about 1.5 m tall were successfully established on the accreting coastline.

Proyecto de mejora de Intersección : Construcción de Glorieta en la Intersección de las Carreteras N-611 y CA-302 en el Alto de San Matero
2018Co-Authors: Mayoral Baños ElíasAbstract:RESUMEN: El proyecto que se presenta trata de mejorar las condiciones de una intersección existente en forma de X entre las carreteras N-611 y CA-302. La complejidad de esta intersección viene determinada por los desniveles del terreno y por situarse en un punto alto del terreno. Punto que se sitúa en el "Alto de San Mateo" en Maoño, Santa Cruz de Bezana. Como solución a la complejidad de la intersección existente se propone la construcción de una glorieta en sustitución de dicha intersección. El diseño de esta glorieta está condicionado por la visibilidad de aproximación a la glorieta, ya que al situarse en un punto alto, las alineaciones que llegan a la glorieta lo hacen en forma de acuerdo convexo, dificultando, tanto la visibilidad de otros vehículos próximos a la glorieta debido al cambio de rasante, como la visibilidad de la línea de detención de dicha glorieta. Con el objetivo de mejorar estas visibilidades se plantea una pequeña variación de las rasantes de entrada a la glorieta, o también llamadas, patas. Replanteando estas rasantes, generalmente en forma de elevación se consiguen mejores visibilidades. Por otro lado, para evitar expropiaciones, se ha dispuesto la planta de tal manera que encaje en el espacio disponible actual por dicha intersección. Teniendo en cuenta todo lo anterior, se encuentra una solución apropiada con una glorieta de diámetro exterior de 33m y diámetro interior de 12m. Constará de un sólo carril de calzada anular. Todas las patas tendrán un carril de entrada y uno de salida, excepto la entrada por la pata oeste, que tendrá 2 carriles de entrada. Además, para la adecuada evacuación de las aguas se propone como solución un colector de 400mm subterráneo acompañado de un dren de 100mm para recoger las aguas subterráneas. Dichos sistemas de drenaje se conectarán al alcantarillado público. La evacuación de las aguas superficiales de la calzada se realizarán mediante el encauzamiento de las mismas por rigolas que desembocan en sumideros. Como medida atenuadora del efecto impuesto por el acuerdo convexo antes mencionado, y de acuerdo a la Norma, se dispondrá de una plantación en el centro de la glorieta que ayudará al conductor en la percepción visual de la glorieta. Esta plantación será una encina para estar de en consonancia con la flora local. La cantidad de vehículos pesados que transitan la vía, la clasifican como T2, y se considera en consecuencia, un paquete de firmes 221, compuesto por 25cm de mezcla bituminosa (a repartir entre base, intermedia y rodadura) y 25cm de zahorra. Para asegurar el correcto funcionamiento de estas capas entre sí se aplicarán sendos riegos de imprimación y adherencia. Para la correcta realización de las obras se redacta un plan de gestión de residuos de obligado cumplimiento, un Estudio de Impacto Ambiental y el correspondiente Estudio Básico de Seguridad y Saludo, explicados más detalladamente en sus respectivos anejos. La obra tiene un Presupuesto Base de Licitación de 355.060,94€ y el plazo de ejecución de acuerdo con el respectivo plan de obra es de 6 meses.ABSTRACT: The project that is going to be presented intends to improve the conditions of the existing intersection with an X shape between roads N-611 and CA-302. The complexity of this intersection is determined by ramps of the ground and by being placed on a high point of the terrain. This point is located in the "Alto de San Mateo", in Maoño, Santa Cruz de Bezana. As a solution to the complexity of the existing intersection it is proposed the construction of a new roundabout in place of the intersection named before. The design of this roundabout is conditioned by the aproximation visibility of the roundabout. Since it is placed on a high point, the aligments approaching the roundabout make this aproximation with a convex shape, making the visibility of new approaching vehicles so difficcult due to the inclination change. Moreover, the visibility needed to stop of the roundabout is complicated as well. With the objective on mind of improving this visibilities it is planned a little variation of the inclination of the road axis approaching the roundabout, or the so called, legs. Due to a replanning of the inclination, generally moving them up, better visibilities are achieved. On the other hand, to avoid expropriations, the top view of the new roundabout has been thought to fit the space in between the existing intersection. Keeping all this on mind, a solution for this roundabout is found with a 33 meters of inscribed circle diameter and 12 meters of inner diameter one. It will consist of only one circulatory lane in the roundabout. Every leg will have one lane of entry and one lane for exit, excepting the west leg, wich will have two entry lanes. Furthermore, to make an adecuate evacuation of the water on the road it is proposed as a solution a 400mm diameter underground pipe accompanied by a drain tube of 100mm diameter to gather all the underground waters. Those systems of drainage will be connected to the public sewers. The evacuation of the surface waters of the road will be made by ditches immediately next to the curbs which will end in the named sewers. As a Mitigating Measure of the effect of the convex shape of the road named before, and according to the laws, it will be disposed a plant on the center of the roundabout, which will help the driver to visually perceive the roundabout. This plant will be a "encina" to be according to the local flora. The quantity of heavy vehicles that circulate on the road leads us to classify it as a T2 one and it is considered, as a consequence, a 221 pavement that consist of a 25cm width of asphalt cement and a 25cm width of granular material layer. To assure the correct work of these layers two thin layers of bitumen will be displayed between the asphalt cement layers. For the correct execution of the works a compulsory waste management plan is drafted, an Environmental Impact Study and the corresponding Basic Safety and Greeting Study, explained in more detail in their respective annexes. The work has a Bid Base Budget of € 355,060.94 and the execution period according to the respective work plan is 6 months.Grado en Ingeniería civi
