    Abstract:

    Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the safety of Fel Ursi, Bovis Calculus & Moschus pharmacopuncture solution manufactured with freezing dryness method to use eye drop. Methods: The eye irritation test of this material was performed according to the Regulation of Korea Food & Drug Administration(2005. 10. 21, KFDA 2005-60). After Fel Ursi, Bovis Calculus & Moschus pharmacopuncture solution was applied eyewash in the left eye of the rabbits, the author observed eye irritation of the cornea, iris, conjunctiva at 1, 2, 3, 4 & 7day. Results: 1. After Fel Ursi, Bovis Calculus & Moschus pharmacopuncture solution was applied eyewash in the left eye of the rabbits, there wasn t physical problem at 9 rabbits. 2. After Fel Ursi, Bovis Calculus & Moschus pharmacopuncture solution was applied eyewash in the left eye of the rabbits, there wasn`t eye irritation of the cornea, iris, conjunctiva at 1, 2, 3, 4 & 7day. Conclusions: In this study, it was observed that Fel Ursi, Bovis Calculus & Moschus pharmacopuncture solution didn`t induced eye irritation in rabbits.

    Abstract:

    The authenticity of controversial species is a significant challenge for systematic biologists. Moschidae is a small family of musk deer in the Artiodactyla, composing only one genus, Moschus. Historically, the number of species in the Moschidae family has been debated. Presently, most musk deer species were restricted in the Tibetan Plateau and surrounding/adjacent areas, which implied that the evolution of Moschus might have been punctuated by the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau. In this study, we aimed to determine the evolutionary history and delimit the species in Moschus by exploring the complete mitochondrial genome (mtDNA) and other mitochondrial gene. Our study demonstrated that six species, M. leucogaster, M. fuscus, M. moschiferus, M. berezovskii, M. chrysogaster and M. anhuiensis, were authentic species in the genus Moschus. Phylogenetic analysis and molecular dating showed that the ancestor of the present Moschidae originates from Tibetan Plateau which suggested that the evolution of Moschus was prompted by the most intense orogenic movement of the Tibetan Plateau during the Pliocene age, and alternating glacial-interglacial geological eras.

  • Comparative Study of Cytotoxicity of Moschus and Muscone on Rat Retinal Neurons in vitro

    The present study was performed to measure and calculate the maximal atoxic concentration(TC0) of Moschus and muscone on rat retinal neurons in vitro,and to compare the cytotoxicity of Moschus and muscone on rat retinal neurons in vitro.For experiments,7 groups of Moschus and muscone solutions,the concentrations of that were from 0.156 to 10 mg/mL by double dilution,were added into the cultured retinal neutrons.The ODs of the survival cells were tested by MTT assay,and the TC0 and TC50 of Moschus and muscone were to be calculated.The results showed that the TC0 of Moschus and moscone were 1.29 and 7 mg/mL,respectively;the TC50 of Moschus is 8.7 mg/mL.Thus,the results suggested that the cytotoxicity of Moschus on rat retinal neurons in vitro may be higher than that of muscone.

    Abstract:

    The present study was to performed to compare the survival effects of Moschus and muscone on rat retinal neurons in vitro.For experiments,Moschus solutions and muscone solutions were added into the cell suspension,respectively.Then,the optical density(OD)was tested by MTT assay.The effects of Moschus and muscone on rat retinal neurons were to be evaluated.In the same way,the cell suspension was treated by Moschus or muscone associated with a certain quantity of m-NGF,and their effects were to be evaluated.The results showed that Moschus and moscone had no significant effects on the living of rat retinal neurons(P0.05).When associated with m-NGF,Moschus and muscone in some certain concentration can promote the living of rat retinal neurons significantly.Thus,the results suggested that by enhancing the biological efficacy of nerve growth factor(NGF),both Moschus and muscone could promote the living of retinal neurons indirectly;among all of Moschus ingredients,muscone may be one of the most effective one to enhance the biological effect of NGF.

    Abstract:

    Based on community component,structure,biodiversity and interspecific relationship,the summer community of ungulates in Shiqu County,Sichun Province has been studied.There are 8 species of ungulates in this area.Their distribution and density vary with elevation.Line transect sampling was used to estimate their relative densities.With reference to the relationship between animals and their environment,these ungulates are classified into three subcommunities: A.In alpine exposed rock frigoridesert: Pseudois nayaur,Procapra picticaudata,Cervus albirostris,Ovis ammon,Pantholops hodgsoni,Cervus elaphus macneilli and Equus kiang;B.In alpine shrub and grassland: Procapra picticaudata,Cervus elaphus macneilli,Pseudois nayaur,Equus kiang,Pantholops hodgsoni,Cervus albirostris and Moschus chrysogaster sifanicus;C: In subalpine shrub and grassland: Moschus chrysogaster sifanicus and Procapra picticaudata.Similarities between any two of them are all low,which contributes to their significant differences in component,structure and dominant species.Research on the interspecific relation by means of 2×2 table shows that interspecific coefficients are low and even some of them are negative correlation.Results of χ~2 test indicates that the correlation between most two species are not significant.The points in the two dimensions polar ordination figure are scattered.Thus,the summer community of ungulates in Shiqu County has such characteristics as simple-component,widely-scattered,slightly-competed.

    Based on the quantitative theory, the studies show that the key habitat selection factors of Moschus chrysogaster sifanicus in summer in northwestern plateau of Sichuan are vegetation type, shelter class, slope aspect and human disturbance,the secondary factors are food abundance, slope degree, slope position, water resource and natural enemy,and its most suitable habitat is shrubs on shaded slopes with better shelter class and less disturbance.
