For this we chose to analyze the translations made by the Brazilian translator Paulo Henriques Britto for two poems by American poet Elizabeth Bishop that present homosexual content. In The Shampoo, the poet presents a narrative written at the beginning of her romantic relationship with Brazilian architect Lota de Macedo Soares; and It is Marvelous to Wake up Together is one of the most significant poems written by Bishop when it comes to explicitly homosexual content. In order to reach this article’s goal, a survey of the biographical aspects of the North American poet was made in order to first understand in what historical and social context her work is situated and then to try to understand the relation of Elizabeth Bishop herself to her condition as a woman and lesbian. Next, a content analysis was proposed, based both on Paulo Henriques Britto’s concept of correspondence and on Myrian Diaz-Diocaretz’s studies on the role of the translator in translating poems containing lesbian and/or feminist poetic discourses. With this, it was possible to reflect on the poetic translation from a prism that places it as an instrument of social development within society.

Para isso, escolhemos analisar as traduções feitas pelo tradutor brasileiro Paulo Henriques Britto para dois poemas da poeta norte-americana Elizabeth Bishop que apresentam teor homoafetivo. Em Banho de Xampu, a poeta apresenta uma narrativa escrita no início de seu relacionamento amoroso com a arquiteta brasileira Lota de Macedo Soares; já É Maravilhoso Despertar Juntas é um dos mais significativos poemas escritos por Bishop em se tratando de conteúdo explicitamente homoafetivo. Para alcançar o objetivo deste artigo, fizemos um levantamento de aspectos biográficos da poeta norte-americana para assim entender primeiro em que contexto histórico e social se insere sua obra e depois tentar compreender qual a relação da própria Elizabeth Bishop com sua condição de mulher e lésbica. Em seguida foi proposta uma análise de conteúdo apoiada tanto nos conceitos de correspondência de Paulo Henriques Britto, quanto nos estudos de Myriam Díaz-Diocaretz sobre o papel do(a) tradutor(a) ao traduzir poemas que contenham discursos poéticos lésbico e/ou feministas. Com isso, foi possível refletir sobre a tradução poética a partir de um prisma que a coloca como instrumento de desenvolvimento social dentro da sociedade

Sustainability of SA production via fermentative synthesis was studied through two different processes (Myriant and Reverdia cases) and compared with the corresponding petrochemical route. Four groups of parameters, namely material efficiency, economics, energy efficiency and land use were considered. Green metrics results show that energy efficiency for Bio-SA production is slightly higher while material efficiency is rather lower when compared with the petrochemical counterpart. Remarkably, Bio-SA calculated costs (≈1040€/MT in the worse case) are quite lower than the actual prices for Petr.SA and close to the price of maleic anhydride used as raw material. Thus, bio-based SA production appears to be competitive with petrochemical route for MAN. Competitiveness of Bio-SA can be boosted by optimization of fermentative process, as well as by the Bio-SA upgrading to high added value chemicals.

Three readers independently assessed tumour response using two different methods: 1) the modified RECIST criteria; and 2) the tumour volumetric approach using dedicated software (Myrian®; Intrasense, Paris, France). Inter-rater reliability of unidimensional and volumetric measurements was assessed using intraclass correlation. Tumour response classification for modified RECIST was compared to the volumetric approach applying unidimensional RECIST volumetric equivalent criteria. The determination of unidimensional tumour measurement (RECIST) revealed a low inter-rater reliability (0.55) and a low interobserver agreement for tumour response classification (general κ 0.33). Only 14 patients were classified equally. A high inter-rater reliability (0.99) and interobserver agreement (general κ 0.9) were found for absolute tumour volumes (volumetric measurements). 27 cases were classified equally. The number of cases classified as “stable disease” was higher for the volumetric approach using tumour-equivalent criteria compared to modified RECIST. Volumetric measurement of MPM on CT using Myrian® software is a reliable, reproducible and sensitive method to measure tumour volume and, thus, therapy response after induction chemotherapy.
