    Abstract:

    Praktikum mata kuliah entomologi yang selama ini sudah berjalan di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh belum terlaksana dengan optimal dikarenakan belum adanya modul praktikum yang membahas tentang serangga hama pertanian khususnya serangga hama pada tanaman pala (Myristica Fragrans). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui spesies serangga hama dan karakteristik serangga hama pada tanaman pala serta membuat modul dan buku sebagai penunjang praktikum mata kuliah Entomologi. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan pada Penelitian ini adalah Survey eksploratif dengan metode pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling dan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan direct sweeping. Pengumpulan serangga dilakukan berdasarkan waktu aktif serangga pada waktu (pagi, siang dan sore). Pagi mulai pukul 07.00 WIB - 9.00 WIB, siang mulai pukul 10.00 WIB- 12.00 WIB dan sore pukul 15.00 WIB- 17.00 WIB. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada tanaman pala (Myristica Fragrans) di perkebunan Desa Batu Itam Kabupaten Aceh Selatan terdapat 11 spesies serangga hama yang terdiri atas 5 ordo. Ordo yang didapatkan dalam penelitian tersebut yaitu ordo Coleoptera (kumbang), ordo Hemiptera (kepik), ordo Blattodea (Kecoa), ordo Isoptera (Rayap), dan ordo Orthoptera (Belalang). Hasil penelitian karakteristik serangga hama pada tanaman pala (Myristica Fragrans) di Desa Batu Itam Kabupaten Aceh Selatan sebagai penunjang pratikum pada mata kuliah entomologi yang menghasilkan buku dan modul praktikum. Buku dan modul ini dibuat untuk bahan referensi dan penunjang kegiatan praktikum serangga hama yang terdapat pada tanaman pala. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa serangga hama yang ditemukan dalam penelitian terdiri atas 5 ordo dan memiliki perbedaan karakteritik satu dengan yang lainnya yang dapat dilihat dari caput, alat mulut, antena, kaki dan sayap

    Abstract:

    Pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.) merupakan tumbuhan yang memiliki biji yang mengalami dormansi, dan memiliki kulit biji (tempurung) keras, sehingga untuk berkecambah memerlukan waktu yang lama. Pematahan dormansi biji pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.) dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara salah satunya dengan zat pengatur tumbuh alami. Urin sapi mengandung hormon pertumbuhan yaitu auksin dan asam giberelin yang dapat digunakan sebagai zat pengatur tumbuh alami. Limbah cair tahu yang merupakan produk akhir dari pengolahan tahu yang masih memiliki kandungan unsur hara sebagai pendukung dalam perkecambahan biji pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian limbah cair tahu dan urin sapi terhadap pematahan dormansi biji pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.), untuk mengetahui konsentrasi yang sesuai dengan pemberian limbah cair tahu dan urin sapi untuk pematahan dormansi biji pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.). Tempat dan waktu penelitian dilaksanakan di Green House Laboratorium Pendidikan Biologi, Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan, UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh pada tanggal 29 April sampai dengan 29 Mei 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode RAK yang terdiri atas lima perlakuan menggunakan limbah cair tahu dan urin sapi dengan masing-masing konsentrasi 0% (P0), 25% (P1), 50% (P2), 75% (P3), 100% dan (P4) dengan lima ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan ANAVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Parameter yang diukur yaitu potensi tumbuh dan daya kecambah pada biji pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.). Hasil penelitian pada potensi tumbuh menunjukkan nilai Fhitung > Ftable yaitu Fhitung (6.756) > Ftable (3.056) dan daya kecambah menunjukkan nilai Fhitung > Ftable yaitu Fhitung (3.990) > Ftable (3.056) maka “Ada pengaruh pemberian limbah cair tahu sapi dan urin sapi terhadap pematahan dormansi biji pala (Myristica Fragrans Houtt.) dan konsentrasi yang sesuai yaitu perlakuan konsentrasi 100% (P4) dan konsentrasi 75% (P3). Produk penunjang yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini berupa modul yang dapat dijadikan sebagai panduan praktikum pada matakuliah Fisiologi Tumbuhan

    Objective:To establish a GC method for simultaneous determination of four components(eugenol,isoeugenol,myristicin,elemicin) in Myristica Fragrans.Methods: Samples were extracted with ethyl acetate using supersonic fluid extraction.GC method was applied for the determination of eugenol,isoeugenol,myristicin and elemicin in Myristica Fragrans.Chromatographic conditions: HP-5MS capillary column(0.25 mm×30 m×0.25 μm) was adopted;the detector was FID;the inlet temperature was 240 ℃;the detector temperature was 250 ℃;the column temperature was programmed to start at 40 ℃,rising to 220 ℃ at a rate of 5 ℃·min-1.Nitrogen(1 mL·min-1) was used as the carrying gas,and the split ratio was 10∶ 1;the injection volume was 1 μL.Results: Four components(eugenol,isoeugenol,myristicin,elemicin) had good linear relationship in the corresponding concentration ranges.The average recoveries(n=9) of the above four components were 99.4%,99.3%,98.2%,and 98.8%,respectively.The contents of four components in different parts of Myristica Fragrans were different.Conclusion: This method is simple,quick and specific,which can be applied for the simultaneous determination of eugenol,isoeugenol,myristicin,elemicin in Myristica Fragrans.

  • Determination and dynamic analysis of α-pinene and β-pinene in volatile oil of Myristica Fragrans Houtt

    OBJECTIVE To establish a GC method for simultaneous determination of α-pinene and β-pinene in volatile fractions and study its dynamic changes in leaves of Myristica Fragrans Houtt;METHODS The essential oil was extracted by steam distillation.GC method was applied for the determination of α-pinene and β-pinene from the essential oil.Chromatographic conditions:HP-5MS Capillary column(0.25mm×30m×0.25μm) was used;The detector was FID;Inlet temperature was 240℃;The detector temperature was 250℃;Initial temperature was 40℃.It was programmed rising by 5℃·min-1 until 220℃.Carrying gas was nitrogen(1mL·min-1),split ratio was 10:1;Injecton volume was 1μL.RESULTS α-pinene and β-pinene have good linear relationship in the concentration range with the average recoveries(n=3) were 99.2% and 98.7%,respectively.The contents of α-pinene and β-pinene in different tissues were different.The content of α-pinene and βpinene in the leaves from different months showed a certain degree of regularity.CONCLUSION This method is simple,quick and specific.It can be applied for the simultaneous determination of α-pinene and β-pinene in the volatile fractions of Myristica Fragrans Houtt.

    ABSTRACTIntroduction: Myristica Fragrans has its origins in the Spice Islands of Indonesia, formerly known as the spice islands. Fragrant rich nutmeg is one of the highly prized spices known since antiquity for its aromatic, aphrodisiac, and curative properties. Since ancient times, nutmeg has been used as a remedyfor various ailments or to improve health in general.  Purpose: Although the culinary value of this magical spice is well-known, its medicinal and therapeutic values are mostly unheard of. So that, the purpose of this research is to clarify the health benefits of nut meg.                       Methode: This research is an descriptive research. Result:  Health benefits nutmeg is used as a stomachic, stimulant, carminative as well as for intestinal catarrh and colic, headaches, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, fever, bad breath, to stimulate appetites and to control flatulence.  It is also valuable for its aphrodisiac and antiinflammatory properties. Studies show that it can help lower blood pressure and sooth a stomach ache as well as stop diarrhea and (in low dose) help to detoxify the body, stimulate the brain.Conclusion: Nut meg have many health benefits so nut meg must be processed to be a good herbal product which is easilya acessible to the public. Keywords: Health benefits, nutmeg

    Abstract Six diarylbutane lignans 1–5 and one aryltetralin lignan 6 were isolated from the methanol (95%) extracts of Myristica Fragrans seeds and then 7-methyl ether diarylbutane lignan 4 has proven to be new a compound. Their compounds 1–7 were evaluated for LDL-antioxidant activity to identify the most potent LDL-antioxidant 3 with an IC50 value of 2.6 μM in TBARS assay. Due to its potency, compound 3 was tested for complementary in vitro investigations, such as lag time (140 min at 1.0 μM), relative electrophoretic mobility (REM) of ox-LDL (inhibition of 80% at 20 μM and 72% at 10 μM), and fragmentation of apoB-100 (inhibition of 93% at 20 μM) on copper-mediated LDL oxidation. In macrophage-mediated LDL oxidation, the TBARS formation was also inhibited by compound 3.
