To repair perforation of Nasal Septum with free mucosa of Nasal bottom
Guangxi Medical Journal, 2005Co-Authors: Wei Yu-hongAbstract:Objective To explore a new treatment to repair perforation of Nasal Septum with free mucosa of Nasal bottom.Method The mucosa around perforation of Nasal Septum was separated by means of submucos correction of Nasal Septum, and some mucosa of Nasal bottom was cut down, then the free mucosa of Nasal bottom and the mucosa bag of Nasal Septum were sutured and the perforation could be covered completely.Result The perforation of Nasal Septum in 11 patients were closed satisfactorily. The symptoms of Nasal cavity disappeared completely.Perforation of Nasal Septum did not recur and the follow-up time ranged from 6 months to a year. Conclusion The mucosa of Nasal bottom is easy to be got and survire,it can be used to repair perforation of Nasal Septum instead of mucosa of inferior turbinate.

Pleomorphic adenoma of the Nasal Septum: MR features.
AJNR. American journal of neuroradiology, 2000Co-Authors: Ken Motoori, Seiji Yamamoto, Hideyuki Takano, Takuya Ueda, Kouichi Nakano, Mitsuaki IkedaAbstract:We report the MR imaging features of a pleomorphic adenoma of the Nasal Septum. To our knowledge, whereas the CT findings of pleomorphic adenomas of the Nasal Septum have been reported, the MR features of this rare entity have not been reported in the English-language literature.

Nasal Septum Perforation of Welders
Industrial health, 2002Co-Authors: Choong Ryeol Lee, Cheol In Yoo, Jiho Lee, Seong-kyu KangAbstract:During the periodic physical checkups in 1997-2000, the authors have found eleven cases of Nasal Septum perforation among 2, 869 welders in Ulsan, Korea. They have not suffered from diseases and conditions that could cause Septum perforation such as tuberculosis, syphilis, and longterm use of topical corticosteroids. And also they did not have trauma history and surgical experiences on their Nasal Septum. To investigate the cause of Septum perforation we reviewed the past history of pre-employment, the results of annual working environment survey and the material safety data sheets of welding rods and steels with which they have dealt. We also analyzed the concentration of several metals of welding fume and the concentration of blood and urinary chromium. In the result, we assumed that the Nasal Septum perforation of welders was due to chronic exposure to low-level hexavalent chromium.

Chondrosarcoma of the Nasal Septum
Skeletal radiology, 2002Co-Authors: Seiji Yamamoto, Ken Motoori, Hideyuki Takano, Hiroshi Nagata, Takuya Ueda, Iwao OsakaAbstract:The Nasal Septum is a particularly rare site of origin of chondrosarcoma. Cranial base invasion may be at hand, with such lesions making complete tumor removal difficult. MRI techniques allow precise definition of tumor extent. In the described case, CT and Dynamic MR imaging were performed in a case of chondrosarcoma of the Nasal Septum. Imaging clearly illustrated size and extent of the mass with central regions of internal calcification. Dynamic MRI was additionally performed, which helped to define the presumed origin of the lesion from the Nasal Septum.
