  • A combined application of acoustic rhinometry, rhinoresistometry, and flow simulation of the Nose Mucosa before and after turbinate surgery: a model study.
    Georgian medical news, 2009
    Co-Authors: Gogniashvili G, Khujadze M
    Abstract:

The interpretation of rhinometric results seems difficult, particularly in young examiners. In order to follow rhinometric assessments precisely, the knowledge of the Nose airflow mechanisms is necessary. In this direction, in a model study the consequences of nasal concha surgery on acoustic rhinometry and rhinoresistometry were systematically investigated. Six Nose models were examined through acoustic rhinometry and rhinoresistometry approaches. Each model reflected conditions happened after the nasal concha surgery. All models were also rinsed with the water while the flow outputs were visualized for the checking. The normal Nose was represented an even flow distribution over the entire nasal cavity. After the nasal concha resection, a deviant flow course and a significant grow in turbulence activity were seen. A flow resistance dropped in addition considerably. In the model with general lateral wall hyperplasia, a restriction of the inferior and even of the middle nasal concha led to the beneficial functional results. The models demonstrated a positive correlation between the flow data and acoustic rhinometry and rhinoresistometry measures. Both methods complement each other in the diagnostic outcome of the Nose functioning.

  • peculiarities of microbiological and immunological indices of human Nose Mucosa in conditions of man made pollution
    Mikrobiolohichnyĭ zhurnal, 2014
    Co-Authors: O V Voĭtovych, O M Kamyshnyĭ
    Abstract:

Possible influence of man-made load on formation and function of microbiocenosis of the Nose Mucosa in practically healthy people of industrial city has been studied. Microbiota composition, content of secretory immunoglobulin A, functional state and expression of TLR-2 and TLR-4 by Mucosa cells were studied in the given human biotope. The residing in conventionally contaminated districts of the industrial city tells on the increase of ecologic role of Candida albicans in the composition of microbiocenosis of the Nose Mucosa. The authors have shown high sensitivity of the number of TLR-4-positive epithelial cells to the type of the basic taxon of a microorganism in the composition of the Nose Mucosa microbiota and also sensitivity of the number of TLR-2 and TLR-4-positive epithelial cells and the density of expression by TLR-4 epithelial cells to the man-made pollution, they have also established the expressed unbalance of the system of inherent immunity of the Nose Mucosa of practically healthy young persons in conditions of man-made pollution.

  • a case report malignant melanoma of Nose Mucosa and paranasal sinuses
Paripex Indian Journal Of Research, 2017
    Co-Authors: Ramkesh Meena
    Abstract:

A CASE REPORT - MALIGNANT MELANOMA OF Nose Mucosa AND PARANASAL SINUSES Introduction: Primary malignant melanoma of nasal Mucosa and paranasal sinuses is a rare tumor of uncertain aetiology, unpredictable biological behaviour and poor prognosis. Unlike skin melanomas, there are no risk factors and the disease frequently manifests in older patients, with non-specific symptoms of nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea and epistaxis. Unfortunately, this disease is diagNosed usually in advanced stages which makes it inoperable. Case Report: Report: A 68 year-old woman presented with right nasal obstruction and epistaxis for 2 months. On clinical examination a pink polypoidal soft, non tender mass filled right nasal cavity which did not bleed to touch. Punch biopsy reported malignant melanoma with invasion of the nasal cavity structures and  extend into anterior part of nasopharynx. The patient was submited  for surgery and do lateral rhinotomy  and  pt follow up first time at 15 post op days.second follow-up at1.5 month, third follow-up at 3month , fourth follow up at 6month that time patient symptomps free and there after patient not coming for follow up. Conclusion: Malignant melanomas of nasal Mucosa and pns  in general, diagNosed in advanced stages. Their histological characteristics in the Mucosa difficult the surgical treatment, that is one of the most efficient options, because they are resistant to chemo and radiotherapy. The early diagnosis, then, is the best option for this tumor nowadays.
