  • Análisis provincial de la nupcialidad en España
    Bellaterra Centre d'Estudis Demogràfics, 2021
Co-Authors: Miret Pau, Universitat Autònoma De Barcelona. Centre D'estudis Demogràfics
    Abstract:

Nuptiality patterns in Spain during the eighties have followed contrasting trends compared to those registered during the seventies. From 1980 Spaniards are delaying marriage, while from the late fiftiesuntil the late seventies the trend indicated an earlier age at marriage. As a consequence, from the beginning of the eighties up until now Nuptiality "quantum" is decreasing, whereas during the 1960s and1970s it was very high. This analysis focuses on two periods of contrasting Nuptiality models. The 1975/6 period marked the beginning of the end of a Nuptiality pattern characterised by very high "quantum" and early timing. Theyear 1981 year is characterised by a reversed trend in Nuptiality timing which leads to more lower Nuptiality levels. This study describes these Nuptiality patterns for both periods at the provincial level. The methodology used consists of creating "age-specific first marriage rates", from which a cross¬sectional "quantum" indicator (the "Total Period Nuptiality Rate" -first marriages) and a timing indicator("Mean Age at First Marriage") are derived. The classification of Nuptiality patterns at the provincial level is based on these two indicators.

    Abstract:

This communication is concerned with the decision of marrying and the perception of marriage during a crisis period in Madrid and Barcelona. Between 1975 and 1985, an important drop in Nuptiality was registered in Spain: a fall of the period Nuptiality index was paralleled by a later age of marrying. The indicators calculated from statistical registers as well as quantitative analysis give us information about the collective behovior of the population. How the economic crisis has influenced the couple perception, and before all, the perception of its own marriage situation? Can we speak of a new marriage model which grew up from this period? These questions are examined using in-depth interviews analysis collected within the context of the research The formation of the couple: Madrid and Barcelona 1985. Married persons are examined too

  • Development of partner forms in the Czech Republic: trends and patterns
    2018
    Co-Authors: Vyplel Dan
    Abstract:

The objective of this study is to create comprehensive overview of the development of partner forms in the Czech republic from 1961 to 2016 and their own analysis. This thesis is divided into two parts, where the first part deals with analyzes of individual partner forms, namely in the form of analysis of primo-Nuptiality, especially from generation perspective, analysis of divorce rate, analysis of marriages of divorced and analysis of cohabitation. This diploma thesis is so independently connected to my bachelor thesis, using the same primo-Nuptiality life tables which had been calculated by a uniform methodology for absolute mutual comparability. These life tables, supplemented by another two years, were also used here to calculate the indicators in the already mentioned generational view of primo-Nuptiality. The second part of this thesis is then devoted to the analysis of the International Social Survey Programme for the Czech Republic, focusing only on the part of the Family for 1994 and 2012 and their mutual comparison and transitions. Keywords: primo-Nuptiality life tables, cohort, nuptial, marriage, divorce, cohabitation, ISSP, Czech Republic, IBM SP

Abstract:

Nuptiality in the Czech Republic: cross-sectional and cohort view Abstract The objective of this study is to describe the development of primo-Nuptiality in the Czech Republic from 1961 to 2014 using primo-Nuptiality life tables. These tables have been calculated to such an extent with the use of the same methodology for the first time and thus their complete mutual comparability is guaranteed. For each period there are selected years, which are then in detail examined primarily in terms of intensity and timing of first marriages. As for illustration there are also mentioned external socioeconomic factors of the given time period, which has been affecting the discussed indicators. The last chapter of the study adresses a cohort view on primo-Nuptiality of specific birth cohorts. The development of the cohort primo-Nuptiality quantum by age and respective differences are investigated. Abstract:

• Fertility transition in England and Wales: continuity and change *
    2015
Co-Authors: Dov Friedl, Barbara S Okun
    Abstract:

The focus of this paper is whether the transition from high to low fertility reveals continuity or discontinuity with the past. Our analyses of districts of England and Wales over time reveal an overall picture of continuity. Specifically, we show that (1) a substantial proportion of districts experienced pretransition variations in marital fertility that were so large that they are suggestive of deliberate fertility control; (2) the changes over time in the distributions of marital fertility levels and the relative importance of marital fertility levels to the determination of overall fertility levels were gradual and smooth; (3) the proportion of districts dominated by marital fertiliity variation, as opposed to Nuptiality variation, increased gradually over time, and both marital fertility and Nuptiality variations were present in all periods considered; and (4) there are important relationships between changes over time in marital fertility and socio-economic variables in periods both before and after the transition. The last conclusion is based on our estimated equations from the pooled cross-sectional, time-series data. Moreover, these estimated equations reveal relationships between changes in specific explanatory variables and changes in marital fertility that are very similar both before and after the onset of the transition

  • pretransition marital fertility variation over time was there deliberate control in england
    Journal of Family History, 1995
Co-Authors: Dov Friedlander, Barbara S Okun
    Abstract:

An important line of research concerning historical fertility patterns in currently developed countries of Europe has concluded that prior to the fertility transition marital fertility was essentially constant over time and deliberate fertility control was virtually unknown. It has been argued that variations over time in overall fertility were largely the consequence of variations in Nuptiality. Other researchers have challenged these views and present evidence for the existence of a significant minority of fertility controllers in pretransition populations. In this paper the authors find support for this second view and argue that 1) there was significant non-random variation in marital fertility over time prior to the transition; 2) in many cases this variation in marital fertility was large relative to contemporaneous variations in Nuptiality; and 3) in a substantial minority of the cases the variation over time in pretransition marital fertility was so large that it is suggestive of deliberate fertility control. Thus these findings question the view of fertility transition as an innovation in deliberate marital fertility control. While most of the evidence is based on data from England and Wales the authors find corroboration of their key results in other European data. (authors)

  • Nuptiality in Buenos Aires in the mid-twentieth century: Chascomús, La Plata and San Martin
'Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico', 2018
    Co-Authors: Masciadri Viviana
    Abstract:

This research analyzes Nuptiality trends around 1947 and 1960 in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and three of bonaerenses districts. First this research describes the demographic policies related to Nuptiality. Then the study analyzes the statistics of marriages and the structure of the population by sex, age and marital status according to the census definition. It also describes the subpopulation that voluntarily disassociated from a cohabitation or marriage based on the relative distribution as well as the probability of being divorced in 1947 and separated / divorced in 1960. This cross-cutting perspective contextualizes the trends in the constitution and dissolution of unions. The paper concludes that secularization had not been completed in the mid-twentieth century; in fact, the demographic policies demanded that the Nuptiality was the expression of economic policies founded on the natural order of things

    Abstract:

This research analyzes Nuptiality trends around 1947 and 1960 in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and three of bonaerenses districts. Abstract:

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present Christophe Lebreton (1950-1996) monk, poet and martyr in Algeria, as a figure that represents a renewal of language with which the mystery of God turned into human experience, is expressed. • Nuptiality between theological aesthetics and trinitarian ontology
Universidad Católica Argentina. Facultad de Teología, 2016
Co-Authors: Avenatti De Palumbo, Cecilia Inés
    Abstract:

Abstract: This article aims to place Nuptiality in the hermeneutic circularity between Antropology and Trinity, in order to recover its speculative strenght for Theology, Philosophy and contemporaneous Mystic. John of the Cross, Edith Stein and Christophe Lebreton’s testimonies become the source from which this paper intends to establish a fruitful bond between Theological Aesthetics and Trinitarian Ontology, which leads to skecht out eight distinctive notes that characterize Nuptiality with a new light
