hardware based tcp processor for gigabit ethernet
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2008Co-Authors: T UchidaAbstract:Transmission control protocol (TCP) and Ethernet have been widely used in readout systems. These protocols are de facto standards and have been implemented on standard operating systems. However, some small Devices, e.g., front-end Devices and detectors, are not capable of employing these protocols because of hardware size limitations. This paper describes a TCP processor for gigabit Ethernet with a circuit size suitable for implementing on a single field programmable gate array. The only Peripheral Device required is a single Ethernet physical layer Device. The hardware was implemented and its TCP throughput was measured. The throughputs in both directions simultaneously were at the upper limits of gigabit Ethernet. A mechanism for slow control over user datagram protocol (UDP) is also provided. The processor described here allows adoption of TCP/Ethernet in small Devices that have hardware size limitations.

Bypassing Passkey Authentication in Bluetooth Low Energy
2015Co-Authors: Tomáš RosaAbstract:This memo describes certain new cryptographic weakness of the passkey-based pairing of Bluetooth LE (BLE or BTLE, also known as Bluetooth Smart; as one prefers). The vulnerability discussed here extends the set of possible attacking scenarios that were already elaborated before by Mike Ryan in [4]. Instead of the passive sniffing attack on pairing secrets, we show how a fraudulent Responder [1] can gracefully bypass the passkey authentication, despite it being possibly based on even one-time generated PIN. Such an active attack may become handy in situation where passive sniffing of correct pairing cannot be employed – for instance, because of the original Responder Device being out of reach or otherwise unwilling to pair again. Or, we may already want to actively impersonate the Peripheral Device to inject some data into e.g. iPhone Apps from attacker’s keyboard, perform MITM, etc. Since the attack runs on the Security Manager layer [1], it can reuse a lot of the existing network stack that is already in place for this approach. This namely concerns everything bellow Host Controller Interface (HCI) [1]. Actually, the whole procedure starting with the authentication bypass and continuing to data injection (which would be a regular communication anyway) can be done using a general Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Ready USB dongle via HCI commands. Furthermore, we shall perhaps emphasize the attack we present here would be possible even if there already was the yet-awaited ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key agreement employed in BLE as, for instance, in Bluetooth BR/EDR Secur

Robotic workstation for storing 25 kg bags of mixture per pallet
Vysoké učení technické v Brně. Fakulta strojního inženýrství, 2014Co-Authors: Falta LiborAbstract:The aim of this thesis is to create the design of a robotic workstation (RWS) for storing bags on a pallets with a capacity of 600 bags per hour. As an introduction to the issues of solved task, the introductory part of the thesis deals with a general information about industrial robots, theories ofdesigning RWS and palletization. For the suggested workstation it is given to have one pickup place from the roller conveyor and two unloading places. Within the RWS it is used belt, roller and chain conveyors as a Peripheral Device for conveying bags and pallets. There are two variants of RWS created for the possibility of technically - economic assessment. Solution for the security and the ergonomy of the workplace are an integral part of the study. Selected components of RWS have their risk analysis carried out. There is also the draft of a robot gripper mentioned, including assembly drawing. In conclussion there is calculation of returning of funds invested in the construction of RWS. Drawings of robotized workplace disposition, schemes of pneumatic and electrical connections and block diagram of the control system of RWS are included as attachments

Robotic workstation for storing 25 kg bags of mixture per pallet
Přílohou diplomové práce jsou výkresy dispozice robotizovaného pracoviště, schémata pneumatického a elektrického zapojení a blokové schéma řízení RTP.The aim of this thesis is to create the design of a robotic workstation (RWS) for storing bags on a pallets with a capacity of 600 bags per hour. flash drive with spring loaded swivel connector
2009Co-Authors: Jim Chinnan NiAbstract:A swivel-type computer Peripheral Device includes a housing and a swivel rack assembly that swivels relative to the housing between a retracted position, in which a PCBA having a plug connector mounted on the swivel rack assembly is disposed inside the housing, and a deployed position, in which the swivel rack assembly is rotated outside of the housing such that the plug connector is positioned for insertion into a host computer socket. A torsion spring is connected between the housing and the swivel rack assembly and arranged to bias the swivel rack assembly either into the deployed position or into the retracted position. A locking mechanism controlled by a push button or another actuating mechanism is used to selectively lock the swinging rack in a retracted position and a deployed position.

flash drive with spring loaded retractable connector
2009Co-Authors: Jim Chinnan Ni, Nan NanAbstract:A pen-type computer Peripheral Device includes an elongated housing containing a PCBA having a plug connector. The PCBA is secured to a positioning member that is actuated by way of a press-push button that is exposed through a slot defined in a wall of the housing. A spring-loaded mechanism includes a spring and a locking mechanism that locks the connector in a retracted position and a deployed position, and the spring biases the connector from the retracted position to the deployed position, or vice versa.
