  • argon laser photoablation of conjunctival Pigmented Nevus
    American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2006
Co-Authors: Jiwon Kwon, Jin Wook Jeoung
    Abstract:

Purpose To evaluate the efficacy of an argon laser in the ablation of benign conjunctival Pigmented nevi. Design Interventional case series. Methods We conducted argon laser ablations for conjunctival Pigmented Nevus in 30 eyes of 28 patients. Laser ablation was applied directly to the conjunctival Pigmented Nevus in all patients. All patients were followed up over a period of 12 months. Results In all patients, the conjunctival lesions to which the argon laser was applied disappeared almost completely within two days after treatment. No recurrence of lesions was detected in any patient during the follow-up period, nor were any conjunctival scars or conjunctival injections. Conclusions The argon-laser ablation of conjunctival Pigmented nevi uniformaly resulted in excellent clinical outcomes. Therefore, this study concludes that argon laser ablation is a safe and effective modality for the treatment of benign conjunctival nevi, and this method could replace the classical surgical procedure.

  • Clinical study in the use of an ultrapulse CO_2 laser to treat palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus
Chinese Journal of Optometry & Ophthalmology, 2020
    Co-Authors: Zhou Shengjie
    Abstract:

Objective To study the clinical effectiveness of using an ultrapulse CO_2 laser to treat a palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus. Methods All cases were treated with an ultrapulse CO_2 laser with parameters set for 10 600 nm,100~300 J energy density in a single pulse, frequency 10~15 Hz,and a 0.5~1 mm spot of light. Results Of 360 cases, all were cured(7.03%) and there was a 100% rate of effectiveness.None of the patients had pigmentation nor did any of them have an obvious cicatrization after treatment. The contour of the eyelid was also satisfactory. Conclusion The ultrapulse CO_2 laser is safe and efficient in treating palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus and consistent with the basic principles of cosmetic surgery.

  • the clinical characters and observation on the surgical therapeutic effect of palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus
Chinese Journal of Practical Ophthalmology, 2011
    Co-Authors: Yue Wang, Ying Zhao
    Abstract:

Objective To investigate the clinical characters and surgical therapeutic methods of Pigmented Nevus at palpebral margin. Methods Retrospective analysis the clinical materials of 32 cases (32eyes) of palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus, including clinical characters, therapeutic methods and effective observation. The length of the palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus were no more than 4 mm in 8 cases. They did not involve the tarsi and conjunctiva. We gave them simple excision and thermocauterization. The length of the palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus were more than 4 mm in 9 cases. But they also did not involve the tarsi and conjunctiva. We excised the Pigmented Nevus and repaired the defect of palpebral margin. The length of the palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus were no more than 7 mm in 9 cases. But they passed the grey line and involved the conjunctiva. We gave them wedged excision and mattress-suture.The length of the palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus were more than 7 mm in 6 cases and they passed the grey line and involved the conjunctiva. We excised the Pigmented Nevus with the tarsi and conjunctiva. We used tarsoconjunctival flap to repair the defect of palpebral margin. Results All 32 cases gain the excellent recovery for the appearance after following up from 6 months to 24 months. There were no abnormity of palpebral margin. Conclusion According to the size, depth, and position of palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus, we could get satisfying treatment effect by selecting the correspondence operation methods. • Operation and one stage repair of palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus
Chinese Journal of Ocular Trauma and Occupational Eye Disease, 2020
    Co-Authors: Tu Yong-fan
    Abstract:

Objective To study the method of operation and one stage repair of palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus. Methods According to the size and position of palpebral margin Pigmented Nevus,we selected the correspondence operation methods on 36 cases. And we utilized eyelid flaps to repair the defect. The specimens were examined with pathology. Results The appearance of 36 cases was fine. The scars of eyelid were not obviously.36 cases were follow-up from 3 months to 6 months. Conclusions The structure of palpebral margin was refined. The operation and repair skills on the palpebral margin pigmental Nevus were influential to maintain the eyelid shape and palpebral margin radian.
