  • System Security research at Politecnico Di Milano
Proceedings of the 1st SysSec Workshop (SysSec), 2011
    Co-Authors: Federico Maggi, Stefano Zanero
    Abstract:

This paper summarizes the past, present and future lines of research in the systems security area pursued by the Performance Evaluation Lab of Politecnico Di Milano. We describe our past research in the area of learning algorithms applied to intrusion detection, our current work in the area of malware analysis, and our future research outlook, oriented to the cloud, to mobile device security, and to cyber-physical systems.

  • SysSec@DiMVA - Systems Security Research at Politecnico Di Milano
    2011 First SysSec Workshop, 2011
    Co-Authors: Federico Maggi, Stefano Zanero
    Abstract:

This paper summarizes the past, present and future lines of research in the systems security area pursued by the Performance Evaluation Lab (VPLab) of Politecnico Di Milano. We describe our past research in the area of learning algorithms applied to intrusion detection, our current work in the area of malware analysis, and our future research outlook, oriented to the cloud, to mobile device security, and to cyber-physical systems.

  • Wind tunnel and CFD investigation of unconventional rigs
    2008
Co-Authors: Fabio Vittorio Fossati, Sara Muggiasca, F. Martina, A. Nazareth, Andrea Vallicelli, Ignazio Maria Viola
    Abstract:

This paper presents research activities carried out by the authors to investigate aerodynamic behaviour of several unconventional saiplans in comparison to the sloop traDitional solution. In particular an “Ashaped” mast, placed in the stern area of the yacht has been considered in single-jib and double-jib configurations. Wind Tunnel tests and performance preDiction analyses have been performed in order to compare Different configurations. 1 Full Professor, PhD, Sailing Yacht Testing Scientific CoorDinator CIRIVE – Wind Tunnel Politecnico Di Milano; Research Associate, ORC International Technical Committee 2 Researcher, PhD Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico Di Milano 3 PhD student, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico Di Milano 4 ORC International Technical Committee Chairman; Vallicelli Yacht Design & Co. 5 Full Professor, IDEA Department Architectural Faculty, University of Pescara

  • WIND TUNNEL TECHNIQUES FOR INVESTIGATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF SAILING YACHTS AERODYNAMICS
    2006
Co-Authors: Fabio Vittorio Fossati, Sara Muggiasca, Ignazio Maria Viola
    Abstract:

This paper presents sailing yacht wind tunnel testing activities carried out in the Politecnico Di Milano Twisted Flow Wind Tunnel In particular test arrangements, procedures and methodologies that have been developed

  • RAAD - The “Robot Mechanics” Course Experience at Politecnico Di Milano
Advances in Service and Industrial Robotics, 2017
    Co-Authors: Hermes Giberti, Enrico Fiore
    Abstract:

This paper is aimed at describing the authors experience on developing a practical robotic course for students of the last year of Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico Di Milano. The course is born from the will to satisfy the request of a course where students are able to put into practice all concepts acquired during theoretical lessons. The aim of the course is to design a 3-DoF robot with a given architecture. The subject is intrinsically interDisciplinary, so students, organized in groups, are require to focus their attention on Different aspects related to the design of a robotic device, from the modeling of structural components using CAD programs, to the dynamic analyses of the system and to the development of the control software.
