  • Analysis of Power-Line Communication Channels in Ships
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2010
Co-Authors: Sami Barmada, Lisa Bellanti, Marco Raugi, Mauro Tucci
    Abstract:

This paper presents a theoretical and experimental analysis on the application of Power-Line Communication (PLC) on a cruise ship. The authors have developed an accurate model of the Power grid of a ship when it is used as a PLC channel. The model is developed based on a theoretical approach and validated by a thorough measurement campaign. The accuracy of the model is addressed by a comparison between simulation results and measured data, and its use gives an insight into the performance of the Power network to be used as PLC channel.

  • TSP - Experimental measurements of multi-carrier Power Line Communication systems
2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2017
Co-Authors: Jan Slacik, Petr Mlynek, Radek Fujdiak, Katerina Dobesova
    Abstract:

The article focuses on experimental measurement of multi-carrier narrowband Power Line Communication. The aim of experimental measurements was comparison of multi-carrier narrowband Power Line Communication from the view-point of possible Communication distance, available data rate and impact of noise. The specifications G3-PLC and PRIME are considered. The field test results and data rate measurements are presented for different scenarios. They demonstrate consequences of noisy environment and complicated topology. Finally, the article identifies and analysis the fundamental issues for further development of PLC for Smart Grids and Smart Metering.

  • Random Channel Generator for Indoor Power Line Communication
    Measurement Science Review, 2013
Co-Authors: Petr Mlynek, Jiri Misurec, Martin Koutny
    Abstract:

The paper deals with creating an indoor Power Line model based on random parameters. This model approximates the real parameters of the Power Line Communication with sufficient precision. A detailed analysis of earlier and current research in Power Line Communication modelling, especially for Power Line models, is described. Measurement of transmission Line parameters and Power Line model verification follows. Based on model analysis and load impedance measurement, a mathematical description of the model is designed. A reference model for different scenarios is realized too. The last part gives the analysis of this model and simulation results.

  • OFDM model for Power Line Communication
    2010
Co-Authors: Petr Mlynek, Martin Koutny, Jiri Misurec
    Abstract:

The article presents a design of the Power Line Communication model. This model is composed of Communication model, model of Power Line and noise model. The Communication model are realized as the OFDM system, Power Line are modelled from transfer function of a two-port network and a noise model are modelled as a white noise, which gets a spectral colouring by a filter. On the resulting PLC Communication model was shown a comparison of different modulation technique and coding scheme.
