    Abstract:

    It is shown that an aspect of the Process of Individuation may be thought of as a fuzzy set. The Process of Individuation has been interpreted as a two-valued problem in the history of philosophy. In this work, I intend to show that such a Process in its psychosocial aspect is better understood in terms of a fuzzy set, characterized by a continuum membership function. According to this perspective, species and their members present different degrees of Individuation. Such degrees are measured from the membership function of the psychosocial Process of Individuation. Thus, a social analysis is suggested by using this approach in human societies.

    Abstract:

    Time machines are predictions of Einstein's theory of general relativity and provide a myriad of unsolved paradoxes. Convincing and general arguments against time machines and their paradoxes are missing in physics and philosophy so far. In this article, a philosophical argument against time machines is given. When thought of as a Process, Individuation refuses the idea of time machines, in particular travels into the past. With the aid of Nietzsche-Heraclitus' philosophy of becoming and Simondon's notion of Process of Individuation, I propose that time machines are modern fables, created by the man of $\textit{ressentiment}$. In the $\textit{amor fati}$ formula of Nietzsche, I suggest the antipode to time machines.

    In this research, the writer analyzes Divergent novel that is written by Veronica Roth. Divergent novel tells the story of a teenager who is different from others, she is a Divergent. The focus of this research is the main character in this novel, who is Tris. The purpose of this study is to find out how Tris achieves a Process of Individuation that is buried within her unconscious mind where the collective unconscious lies. To achieve Individuation, Tris must reveal the archetypes that are buried within her and accept it as part of her personality. This study uses the theory of the Process of Individuation by C.G. Jung. To achieve Individuation, a person must reveal archetypes that are placed in the unconscious mind. The results of this analysis show that Tris succeeds in revealing the archetypes with the help of some factors. Tris is able to come to terms with herself in order to achieve the Individuation.

    The study is aimed to reveal the Individuation Process of Tris, the main character in Veronica Roth’s Divergent. The object of the study of this research is to analyze the novel based on extrinsic aspects using psychological approach. The writer analyses how the main character named Beatrice Prior or known as Tris finds her true self related to Carl Jung theory about self Individuation Process. There are four kinds of archetypes in order to acknowledge the self Individuation Process. This research is qualitative research. Type of data of the study is text taken from two data sources: primary and secondary. The primary data source is taken from the novel Divergent written by Veronica Roth in 2011. While the secondary data sources are other materials taken from literary books, criticism, essays, articles, journal and internet related to the study. Both data are collected through library research and analyzed by descriptive analysis. The outcome of the study shows the following conclusions based on psychological approach the novel tells that the major character, Tris has different personal identity she is divergent. Divergent cannot fit in any factions. The focus of this research is the main character in this novel. The purpose of this study is to find out how Tris achieves a Process of Individuation that is buried within her unconscious mind where the collective unconscious lies.     Jung’s study centres on the amplification of pictures painted by a woman patient and posits their sequence as evincing the initial stages of the Individuation Process. His text performs a dialogue with its audience whereby Jung persuades us of this truth, and also reveals Jung’s dialogue with his patient and with his own ideas. The present paper revisits the clinical material first with a focus on the interaction between Jung and his patient.   • Dialogicality and culture of psychology in a study of Individuation

    Abstract:

    Viewing psychology as a cultural activity associated with technologies of the self, and noting the cultural phenomenon of the Jungian movement internationally, this paper presents a reading of Jung’s ‘A Study in the Process of Individuation’ through the lens of dialogism. Jung’s study pivots on the interpretation of paintings by a middle-aged American woman, ‘Miss X’, whom he treated in 1928. The present paper critically examines dialogical aspects of the Jungian text, such as Jung’s metaphor of a dialogue with the unconscious, how he and his patient co-constructed her ‘inner’ dialogue, and the text’s dialogue with its audience. It is concluded that the Process of Individuation described by Jung is fundamentally dialogical, evincing the human capacity to co-construct meanings of self-experience and thereby to change how we experience our own selves
