  • Study on Projected Outline Fractal Dimension Mid-position Fractal Dimension Characterizing Particle Group's Degree of Roughness
China Powder Science and Technology, 2006
    Co-Authors: Wu Cheng-bao
    Abstract:

In order to characterize the degree of rough of the particle group,a mathematical model to calculate the Projected fractal dimensions of particle group was modeled. The Projected Outline fractal dimensions of five kinds of particle group samples were measured and calculated based on a high precision digital optics micro-system. The results showed that the average values' size sequence of the Projected fractal dimensions was diesel car exhaust pipe deposited particles, carbon black particles, coal ash particles, the lime drab soil particles and the topsoil of river sediment particles respectively. The conception of "mid-position fractal dimension" was put forward firstly to characterize the degree of roughness of particle group, and the values of the mid-position fractal dimensions are calculated, and their size sequence was in accordance with the Projected fractal dimensions'. So, the rationality of using the fractal dimension to characterize the roughness degree of particle group was proved.

  • Study on Relation Between Surface Fractal Dimension and It's Particle's Shape Index
China Powder Science and Technology, 2007
    Co-Authors: Zeng Wen-xiong
    Abstract:

The model of calculating the particle's surface fractal di- mension was found, also the relationship and size of particle's Projected Outline and shape indexwr F were studied. The results indicated that the size of the particle's Projected Outline size and shape index F have good linear correlation. It was also used the surface fractal dimension model modeled by this paper to calculating 6 kinds of black carbons' surface fractal dimension, and studied the relationship between the particle surface fractal dimension and the shape index F. The study showed that the value of the shape index F increased as the increasing of the particle's surface fractal dimension, and they are linear dependence relation. So, the surface fractal dimension and shape index can be used to characterize the particle's shape, and they are linear dependence relation.

  • External genitalia development from GD 16.5 to GD 18.0 and body positioning.
    2018
    Co-Authors: Laura B. Murdaugh, Haley N. Mendoza-romero, Eric W. Fish, Scott E. Parnell
    Abstract:

A timeline showing the growth of male (top) and female (bottom) external genitalia over a period of late gestation. Photographs of the genitalia are taken at approximately 1x, then cropped and lightly Outlined for clarity. Hashed lines are used to indicate Projected Outline of the genitalia where an animals’ foot blocks it from view. Black arrow points to the small dark spot related to the urethral plate. Right, a full body photograph taken at approximately .90x demonstrates suggested positioning of the fetus for optimal examination (pictured animal is a GD 17.0 male).
