  • Internal fixation of the Radius Head Fractures
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, 2002
    Co-Authors: Wang Man
    Abstract:

Objective To investigate the treatment of radi us Head Fracture through internal fi xation. Methods 42cases of Radius Head Fracture trea ted with internal fixation were foll owed up.Mason classification and Broberg and Morrey criteria were use d to analyze the correlation between the results and the factors of fractu re type and method of fixation.Results42cases were followed up for a mean time of 25months.Evaluation was done according to Broberg and Morrey score systems. The function recovered we ll in 76%of the cases. The results of minor plate group were better than th ose of the screw(P=0.01)or K wire group(P=0.04).The results of Mason typeⅡwere better than those of the typeⅣ(P=0.03).Conclusion Treatment of Radius Head Fracture with internal fixation will improve the elbow function and has better result for Mason typeⅡ.Fixation with minor plate is better than with screw or K wi re.[

  • Treatment of Mason II Radial Head Fracture by Poking Reduction with Kirschner Wires
Chinese Journal of General Practice, 2010
    Co-Authors: Wang Li-qian
    Abstract:

Objective To investigate the curative effect and clinical significance of poking reduction with Kirschner wires on Mason Ⅱ radial Head Fracture. Methods Twenty three patients with Mason Ⅱ Radius Head Fracture were treated by poking reduction with Kirschner wires. The elbow function was assessed by Broberg and Morrey elbow score. Results All the 23 cases were followed up for 6 to 12 months.According to Broberg and Morrey's evaluation method,14 patients was classified as excellent,6 as good and 3 as fair, the excellent and good rates were 86.96%.Conclusion The curative effect of poking reduction with Kirschner wires is definite in the treatment of Mason Ⅱ radial Head Fracture,And it is suitable for application and popularization in primary hospital.

  • The outcome efficiency of internal fixation using mini titanium plate for treatment of Radius Head Fracture with Mason II or III type
    Journal of Molecular Imaging, 2014
    Co-Authors: Yang Jise
    Abstract:

Objective To investigate the outcome efficiency of internal fixation using mini titanium plate for treatment of Radius Head Fracture with Mason Ⅱ or Ⅲ type. Methods Radius Head Fracture with Mason Ⅱ or Ⅲ type in 30 patients were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with mini titanium plate. In these 30 cases, 3 patients adopted allograft bone treatment, and collateral ligaments were repaired in 2 cases. Result Bone healing occurred in all 25 cases which were followed for average 15 months from 10 to 29 months. No deformations were observed in these cases after operation. The functional evaluation scale of elbow was average 93(from 70 to 100), the angle of elbow supination was average 60°(from 40° to 85°). In this group, the excellent and good rate of outcome is 92% with excellent in 18 cases, and the good in 5 cases respectively. There was one patient's muscle force was weaker but no effect to elbow function, and mild elbow pain occurred in another patient. Conclusion The outcome of internal fixation using mini titanium plate for treatment of Radius Head Fracture with Mason Ⅱ orⅢ type is satisfied with security of internal fixation, early exercise of joint and decreasing of disability rate.

  • Proposal of a rehabilitation protocol for a Type II Mason Radius Head Fracture following surgical intervention OSTEOSYNTHESIS with cannulated screws in an elite triathlete. Case study
Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2018
Co-Authors: Li Ibañez Martin, H Ogando Berea
    Abstract:

A 33-year-old man suffers a Radius Head Fracture after a bicycle fall. Surgically operation with OSTEOSYNTHESIS with two cannulated screws was performed. These Fractures, can be a complication in this sport for the technical gesture necessary for the practice of swimming, which needs the recovery of the strength and the complete articular range. Objectives:The objective of the present work is make a proposal of a rehabilitation program focused on the recovery of joint range, strength and adaptation work to swimming. Methods:A systematic review of the scientific literature of the databases of Medline, PubMed, Scopus, PEDRO and SPORTDiscus was carried out. Results:It was designed a rehabilitation protocol specialized in elbow joint mobilization in flexo-extension and prono-supination, joint and soft-tissue manual therapy, electrotherapy and analgesic measures, muscular strengthening work (isometric, concentric and eccentric) and proprioceptive work In different joint ranges.Spine and shoulders: Manual joint an...
