Re-understanding of the relationship between Yuan Shikai and Reform Movement
Journal of Xuchang Teachers' College, 2020Co-Authors: Su QuanAbstract:The relationship between Yuan Shikai and Reform Movement is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:First,it is reflected in Yuan Shikai's written presentation in 1894.Through a multianalysis of its content we find that Yuan Shikai,as a rising star of the westernization sect, his thought gradually slided to the side of Reformers. In fact, his thought was between Reform sect and westernization sect.Second,it is reflected in Yuan Shikai's written statement to Weng Tonghe. The proposals made by Yuan Shikai in his written statement were more practical than Kang Youwei's and was beneficial to Reform.Third,it is reflected in Yuan Shikai's blowing the gab in 1898.Yuan Shikai's not becoming a Reformer had something to do with his regarding Kang Youwei's plan was completely impractical.Generally speaking,Yuan Shikai's activities in Reform Movement should be analyzed concretely instead of being generally understood as speculative action.

We provide an overview of informal elementary science education programs in the United States including a definition and a historical summary. We then depiet how HOSO has reacted to the National Science Education Reform Movement by establishing links between its programmatic and science content and the National Science Education Standards . We end by presenting three insights constructed as a result of HOSO’s efforts to maintain its informal elementary science education identity during a time of national discussion on who constitutes membership in the science education community.

Role and Impact of Western Missionaries in Wu-Xu Reform Movement
Journal of Inner Mongolia Normal University, 2020Co-Authors: Zhu XiaojuAbstract:During China's Wu-Xu Reform Movement in the late 19th century, the western missionaries in China were highly active. They spread western knowledge, criticized the government of the Qing Dynasty, advocated Reform, and even participated in the Reform Movement.Although their purpose was to protect the interest of the Church and their own countries, their role objectively facilitated the awakening and mind emancipation of China's advanced intellectuals at that time, which contributed to building the basis for Wu-Xu Reform and pushing the Movement forward.
