2019Co-Authors: Křenková MonikaAbstract:This thesis deals with the Regional planning of services and its contribution to the site from the point of view of participants in network of services for vulnerable children and families. Regional planning of services is one of the key activities of the project "System Development and Support of Social and Legal Child Protection Tools", which aims to support the transformation of the care system for vulnerable children into practice. The aim of this work is to find out how the participants in network of services for vulnerable children and families perceive the activity of Regional planning of services, their experience and make recommendations for the implementation of Regional planning. The theoretical part describes the project, the activity of Regional planning of services and individual activities of the Regional Planner. This work focuses on the cooperation and multidisciplinary approach. A qualitative approach is used in the research. Data was collected using individual and group interviews. The research group is a sample of participants in network of services for vulnerable children and families. Data analysis has produced recommendations for Regional planning of services activity to maintain activities in localities and has also produced local or system recommendations. Key words..

Lokální síťování je jednou z klíčových aktivit v projektu MPSV "Systémový rozvoj a podpora nástrojů sociálně-právní ochrany dětí", jehož cílem je podpora transformace systému péče o ohrožené děti v praxi. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak aktéři sítě služeb pro ohrožené děti a jejich rodiny v ORP Louny vnímají aktivitu lokálního síťování, jaké jsou jejich zkušenosti a na základě toho podat doporučení pro realizaci lokálního síťování. Teoretická část práce popisuje projekt, aktivitu lokálního síťování a jednotlivé činnosti lokálního síťaře. Práce se zaměřuje na témata spolupráce a multidisciplinárního přístupu. Při výzkumném šetření je použit kvalitativní přístup. Data byla sebrána pomocí metod individuálního a skupinového rozhovoru. Výzkumným souborem je vzorek aktérů sítě služeb pro ohrožené děti a jejich rodiny z ORP Louny. Z analýzy dat vyplynula doporučení pro činnost lokálního síťaře, pro udržení aktivit v lokalitách a přinesla také doporučení lokální nebo systémová. Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2001Co-Authors: Scira MenoniAbstract:The interaction and the couple effects that may occur as induced and indirect consequences of any triggering hazard in metropolitan areas is one of the most important problems to be tackled during disasters, as the Kobe earthquake in 1995 showed very clearly. The analysis of direct, secondary and indirect effects of the Kobe earthquake suggests to substitute the concept of chain of losses and failures to the simple couple hazardous event-damages which is currently used. Not only parameters related to physical weakness or strength of the built environment should be considered by scientists, experts and decision-makers. Organisational, social, and systemic factors are equally crucial to understand the magnified dimension of disasters at increasing levels of exposed systems vulnerability. Linking failures due to different kinds of vulnerability one to the other permits to reconstruct complete event scenarios, where social and organisational elements are not simply added to the 'hard' components of cities, but contribute to explain why failures and losses occurred and why it took so long to repair them. Lifeline damage assessment provides a good example to show how physical, organisational and systemic vulnerabilities are intimately connected one to the other. The point of view from which governance problems related to prevention and emergency preparedness will be looked at is that of an urban and Regional Planner. When Planners look for design solutions suitable for a specific town or region, they must constantly bridge between hard technical matters and social and economical concerns. Furthermore, they are forced to consider in their projects spatial and geographic dimensions. Those two typical features of Planners' approach to problem solving can be interesting for scholars in the field of risk assessment and mitigation research.

Reputation Leaders, Quality Laggards: Incentive Structure in Markets with Both Private and Collective Reputations

MccluskeyAbstract:A theoretical model is developed to illustrate the economic incentives to invest in quality in markets with a dual reputation structure: private (firm reputation) and collective (Regional reputation). Numerical dynamic programming techniques are then used to simulate firms’ strategic behaviour, and competitive outcomes are compared to the optimal investment of a Regional Planner. Market and product characteristics inducing asymmetric and/or sub-optimal investment strategies, potentially destabilising for the region, are investigated.

Australian Planner, 2012Co-Authors: Michael FagenceAbstract:Abstract The purpose of this paper is to explore some of the political dimensions of a Planner's role, particularly in respect of a diversity of decision-making styles and power balance situations, and to propose the relevance of the political skills of diplomacy to the Planner's role. The examination starts from the premise that the town and Regional Planner has an inadequate command of the necessary political skills to successfully prosecute his proposals and policies. It is asserted that training specifically in the art and craft of political practice is given to few Planners, and that even those entering the profession of planning from a social science or humanities background have seldom been trained to manoeuvre in the labyrinth of political decision-making. The paper refutes the proposition that training is unnecessary because of the inherent charismatic qualities of the Planner.
