    Abstract:

    Objective To investigate the characteristics of the 99m Tc-DTPA Renography in patients with different urinary system diseases. Methods The data of 172 cases of unilateral 99m Tc-DTPA Renography was retrospectively analyzed. The cases with unilateral or bilateral renal or ureter, bladder and prostate gland disease were classified as disease group, and the cases with normal unilateral renal or ureter were classified as control group. The SPSS.13 software was used for statistical analysis. Results The incidence of abnormal Renography in disease group was significantly higher than that in control group. Calculus and mild degree hydronephrosis always showed steep and steadily rising curves or high flat lines. Serious hydronephrosis, renal insufficiency, renal agenesis or atrophy and lack of renal always showed low flat lines or straight line of low level falls gradually. Conclusion The 99m Tc-DTPA Renography has a higher sensitivity in assessing the urinary tract obstruction degree, and provides objective index for clinical treatment.

    AbstractPurpose: We compare the diagnostic impact of 2 diuresis Renography techniques for evaluation of suspected upper urinary tract obstruction in children.Materials and Methods: A total of 72 children were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 standardized diuresis Renography protocols. The protocols were identical, except for the time of furosemide (F) injection. In the F+20 scans furosemide was given 20 minutes after the99m technetium pentetic acid radiopharmaceutical. With the modified F-15 scans furosemide was injected 15 minutes before Renography. Hydration, bladder catheterization, urine output determination, radiopharmaceutical injection and scan acquisition were identical. Renography outcomes (obstructed, nonobstructed or equivocal) were analyzed for the investigated side(s) and for the contralateral side, which was used as a control in children with suspected unilateral obstruction.     OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate split renal function, estimate single-kidney renal function, and identify cause of obstruction in patients with ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction by using contrast-enhanced dynamic MR Renography (MRR). MATERIALS AND METHODS. Seventeen patients with UPJ obstruction underwent MRR and diuresis nuclear Renography. Nuclear Renography assessment of split renal function and mechanical versus functional obstruction served as the reference standard. The Baumann-Rudin model for determining glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was applied to generate single-kidney renal function (SK-GFRMRR) from MRR cortical and medullary enhancement curves. MRR split renal function of the right kidney (SK-GFRMRR of the right kidney normalized to the sum of SK-GFRMRR of both kidneys) was compared with nuclear Renography.
