  • Simulation of Channel Allocation Strategy in LEO Satellite Communication System
    Computer Simulation, 2006
    Co-Authors: Mo Dai-hui, Qian Zong-feng, Pla Uni
    Abstract:

Handoff is an important part of mobile management in LEO Satellite Communication system.Generally speaking, integrated allocation strategies of reserving guard channel and all kinds of queuing are usually used in handoff of LEO system.Channel allocation strategy of handoff under conditions of multi-service in LEO Satellite Communication system is studied in this paper.Based on the characters of data-service and voice-service,an integrated reserving guard channel with preemptive priority channel allocation strategy suitable for LEO Satellite Communication system is proposed.A simple and effective model of handoff is set up.Through simulation, this new strategy is compared with that of pure reserving a number of channels. The simulation result shows that the new strategy can provide lower blocking probability for new voice calls and lower forced termination probability for ongoing voice calls,at the cost of little increase of average transmission delay for data calls.

  • Research on Satellite Communication Network Modeling and Simulation Method
    Computer Simulation, 2013
    Co-Authors: Meng Fan-ji
    Abstract:

Traditional Satellite network implements simulation just by STK to establish orbit model, then the orbit data is imported into the network simulation software. The free space loss, antenna and repeater model and so on are not taken into comprehensive consideration. In order to solve the above problems,a Satellite Communication network modeling and simulation method was proposed based on QualNet and STK,.Then, through the simulation of the examples of the regional Satellite Communication systems, the delay performance of the Satellite Communication networks was gained. At last, the examples were analyzed for the performance index of the average end-to-end delay and the delay jitter, which proved that the model is correct.

  • Verification of authentication protocols for mobile Satellite Communication systems
The Egyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Science, 2014
    Co-Authors: Reham Abdellatif Abouhogail
    Abstract:

Abstract In recent times, many protocols have been proposed to provide security for mobile Satellite Communication systems. Such protocols must be tested for their functional correctness before they are used in practice. Many security protocols for the mobile Satellite Communication system have been presented. This paper analyzes three of the most famous authentication protocols for mobile Satellite Communication system from the security viewpoint of data desynchronization attack. Based on strand spaces testing model, data desynchronization attacks on these protocols were tested and analyzed. Furthermore, improvements to overcome the security vulnerabilities of two protocols are mentioned.
