Resilience as a Predictor of Burnout Behaviour among Secondary School Teachers
Asian Journal of Research in Social Sciences and Humanities, 2017Co-Authors: Mandeep Kaur, Ramanpreet KaurAbstract:The present study examined difference in resilience and burnout behavior of Secondary School Teachers of Tarn Taran District with respect to type of School. The study further investigated the relationship between resilience and burnout behavior of Secondary School Teachers. Regression analyses were also tested to find whether resilience is valid predictor of burnout behavior or not. The results of the investigation revealed government and private Secondary School Teachers do not differ significantly with respect to resilience. In case of burnout behavior, government and private Secondary School Teachers differ significantly with respect to depersonalization and personal accomplishment but achieve equal mean scores on emotional exhaustion. It is also observed that there exists positive significant relationship between personal accomplishment and resilience and negative significant relationship between two dimensions of burnout behavior (emotional exhaustion and depersonalization) and resilience. Resilience is also found to be valid predictor of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment.

Teaching Competency of Secondary School Teachers In Relation To Emotional Intelligence

Participants were 100 Secondary School Teachers who completed the General Teaching Competency Scale (GTCS), and Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS). The findings of the study reveal a significant positive relationship between Teachers' teaching competency and their emotional intelligence. But insignificant difference is found between teaching competency as well as between emotional intelligence of Secondary School Teachers teaching in government and private Schools. The study also indicated that teaching competency and emotional intelligence are not influenced by gender.

Spiritual Intelligence of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to Their Job Satisfaction
2013Co-Authors: Mandeep KaurAbstract:The study was designed to examine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction of Secondary School Teachers. Participants were 100 Secondary School Teachers who completed the spiritual quotient scale (SQS), and teacher job satisfaction scale (TJSS). The findings of the study revealed a significant positive relationship between Teachers' spiritual intelligence and their job satisfaction. A significant difference is found between spiritual intelligence of government and private Secondary School Teachers. But insignificant difference is found between job satisfaction of government and private Secondary School Teachers. The study also indicated that spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction are not influenced by gender.

Similarly 27.33% male Secondary School Teachers have low level of work motivation, 46% male Secondary School Teachers have average level of work motivation and 26.67% male Secondary School Teachers have high level of work motivation. 12% government Secondary School Teachers have low level of work motivation, 49.33% government Secondary School Teachers have average level of work motivation and 16% government Secondary School Teachers have high level of work motivation. Similarly 35.33% private Secondary School Teachers have low level of work motivation, 44.67% private Secondary School Teachers have average level of work motivation and 20% private Secondary School Teachers have high level of work motivation. There was no significant difference in the work motivation of male and female Secondary School Teachers. There was significant difference in the work motivation of government and private Secondary School Teachers.

EFFECT OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ON TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS OF Secondary School Teachers
Paripex Indian Journal Of Research, 2018Co-Authors: Umender Malik, NeelamAbstract:the present study is an attempt to study teacher effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers in relation to socio-economic status. A total of 120 (60 male and 60 female) Teachers senior Secondary level of District Rohtak were taken as the sample. Teachers’ Effectiveness Scale (TES) developed by Mutha and Mutha and Emotional Intelligence Inventory by Pethe and Dar were used to collect the data. Mean, Standard Deviation, ‘t’ test and Karl Pearson’s Product Moment Coefficient Correlation were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study were:(i) Teachers with high emotional intelligence are found more effective in teaching than Teachers with low emotional intelligence; (ii) There is a significant positive relationship between teacher effectiveness and emotional intelligence of Secondary School Teachers. It shows that emotional intelligence of Secondary School Teachers has significant effect on teacher effectiveness.

Teaching Competency of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to Their Sense of Humour

Purposive sampling technique was used for selection of the sample. The data was analyzed statistically by using mean, S.D., t-test and correlation (r). Findings of the study revealed that significant difference exists in the sense of humour and teaching competency of urban and rural Secondary School Teachers. Significant and positive relationship was found between sense of humour and teaching competency of Secondary School Teachers.

Teaching competencies of Secondary School Teachers of Chandigarh
2015Co-Authors: Rekha, Pooja SharmaAbstract:This study was carried out with the objective of identifying the teaching competencies of Secondary School Teachers of Chandigarh. Research design adopted for this study was the survey design. A sample of one hundred (100) senior Secondary School Teachers from government and private Schools of Chandigarh formed the study sample. The research instrument used for data collection was the “General Teacher Competency Scale” (GTCS). The data collected was analyzed using the percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test statistics. It was revealed from the study that most of the Teachers of Secondary Schools in Chandigarh are highly competent. Further the results of the study shows that private & government Secondary School Teachers are equally competent in planning, evaluation & managerial aspect of teaching competencies. Also the private Secondary School Teachers are found to be more competent in presenting & closing their lessons in the classes than their government counterparts.

Attitude of Secondary School Teachers of Chandigarh towards Teaching Profession in Relation to Teaching Competencies

The authors tried to know the attitudes of the Secondary School Teachers towards teaching profession in relation to their teaching competencies. The study was conducted on a sample of 100 Secondary School Teachers teaching in government model and private Schools of Chandigarh. The result of the findings indicated that Secondary School Teachers of both government model and private Schools have positive attitudes towards teaching profession, also, the teaching competencies and attitude of Secondary School Teachers of Chandigarh towards teaching profession is significantly correlated in positive direction.

Techno-Pedagogical Competence among Senior Secondary School Teachers

As the nature of research was descriptive so survey method was applied by the investigator to gather the pertinent data. In this study the data was gathered from 100 Teachers of senior Secondary Schools both from government and private Schools using stratifed random sampling technique. In this study, Teachers Techno-Pedagogical Competence scale by S. Rajashekar and K. Sathiyaraj (2013), was used for collecting the data. The application of statistical techniques such as percentage, mean, t-test, standard deviation helped to analyse the data. The research fndings indicated that there is no signifcant difference in male and female senior Secondary School Teachers with respect to their techno-pedagogical competence but on the other hand Government and Private senior Secondary School Teachers differ signifcantly from each other with respect to their techno-pedagogical competence. Private senior Secondary School Teachers possess more techno-pedagogical competence as compared to government senior Secondary School Teachers

The sample of this study consisted of 200 Teachers selectedfrom Kashmir valley. Teacher Effectiveness Scale standardized by Yashmin Ghani Khan (2011) and Work Motivation Questionnaire by Dr. K. G Agarwal (2006) was administered to collect the data. The result shows that negative significant relationship exists between teaching effectiveness of Secondary School Teachers with work motivation.
