spectral properties of the high silica porous glasses doped by Silver Halides
Journal of Luminescence, 2018Co-Authors: T V Antropova, M A Girsova, I N Anfimova, I A DrozdovaAbstract:Abstract Photochromic quartz-like glasses were synthesized by an impregnation of the high-silica porous glasses with mixture of the Ag/Cu-Hal compounds (where Hal = Cl, Br, I; Cu 2+ is sensitizer) from water-salt solutions. UV/VIS/NIR optical density and visible luminescence spectra of synthesized glassy composites have been obtained. It was shown that UV radiation of these materials causes luminescence of the Silver centers in a visible spectral region (450–620 nm). The assumption that the photochromic quartz-like glasses based on the matrixes from silicate nanoporous glasses are promising materials for solar engineering has been stated on the grounds of obtained results.

structure and spectral properties of the photochromic quartz like glasses activated by Silver Halides
Journal of Non-crystalline Solids, 2014Co-Authors: T V Antropova, M A Girsova, I N Anfimova, I A Drozdova, I N Polyakova, Natalia M VedishchevaAbstract:Abstract Photochromic quartz-like glasses (PCQGs) were successfully synthesized by an impregnation of silica nanoporous glasses (SNPGs) with photosensitive phases (AgCl, AgBr, AgI) in or without the presence of CuO as a sensitizer followed by sintering of the samples. Characterization of PCQGs was carried out using the transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and UV–VIS–NIR spectroscopy methods. According to TEM, images revealed that the size of the individual isolated particles and agglomerates, which are contained Silver-phases inside a silica matrix, is from 10 to 100 nm. It was shown that PCQGs preferably contain the crystalline phase of AgBr. In the spectral curves of optical density of the PCQG subjected to UV laser irradiation, the plasmon resonance peaks of the quasi-metallic Silver nanoparticles were found.

structure and optical properties of photochromic quartz like glass doped with Silver Halides
Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2014Co-Authors: M A Girsova, I A Drozdova, T V AntropovaAbstract:Photochromic quartz-like glasses (PCQGs) based on of high-silica porous glasses have been synthesized. The structure of PCQG plates have been investigated using the electron microscopy methods. Their optical properties (light transmission in the visible spectral range) before and after UV laser irradiation have also been investigated. It was demonstrated that a microcrystalline phase of Silver halide had been formed in the bulk phase of the synthesized PCQG. Peaks of the plasmon resonance of quasi-metallic Silver nanoparticles were founded on the spectral dependences of the optical density of PCQG subjected by UV laser irradiation.

An electrochemical viewpoint on the solubility of Silver Halides in water
Journal of Solid State Electrochemistry, 2020Co-Authors: Takashi Kakiuchi, Zdeněk SamecAbstract:An electrochemical view on the solubility product of sparingly soluble salts in water, which Nernst introduced in 1892, is helpful for better understanding of the precipitation equilibria. Specifically exemplified is the solubility of Silver Halides in terms of the partitioning of the salt-constituting ions between the ionic crystal and the adjacent solution.
