An Algorithm for Generating Sketch Plane and Profile Based on Data Points
Mechanical Science and Technology, 2003Co-Authors: An Lu-lingAbstract:This paper gives a method to create 3D models of structural parts implemented on CATIA developing platform, which firstly creates Sketch Profiles from data points, secondly reconstructs the 3D models of structural parts in terms of ordinary design procedures based on design intent. The interrelated algorithms are addressed for Sketch-plane fitting and Sketch-Profile creating from a set of data points. Moreover, an approach for free-style surface reconstruction is given, which takes advantage of the algorithm similar to the above Sketch-Profile creating method to construct section lines, and thus reconstructs the surface models with the section lines and characteristic lines.

Way to Reconstruct the Feature Model under Constraint-Based Extrusion and Rotation
Journal of Kunming University of Science and Technology, 2005Co-Authors: Chen Hong-mingAbstract:On the basis of segmenting 3D measured data with feature design intention, the parameter extraction of the features obtained by several common modeling methods such as extruding, revolving, and the fitting of Sketch Profile are transformed into the resolution of constraint optimization problem. With the interface of CAA-the secondary development platform of CATIA, the parameterized solid feature models can be reconstructed. Experimental results demonstrate that the method presented here is reliable.

A Method for Reconstruction of Constraint-Based Solid Feature Model
Mechanical Science and Technology, 2004Co-Authors: Zhou LaiAbstract:On the basis of segmenting 3D measured data with feature design intention, the parameter extraction of the features obtained by several common modeling methods such as extruding, revolving, blending and fitting of Sketch Profile is transformed into the resolution of constraint optimization problem. With the interface of component application architecture(CAA) which is the secondary development platform of computer aided three dimentional interactive application(CATIA), the parameterized solid feature models can be reconstructed. Experimental results demonstrate that the method presented here is reliable.

Cultural Tourists Among Students from Toruń—Preliminary Profile
Kazimierz Wielki University Press, 2019Co-Authors: Charzyński Przemysław, Buczkowska-gołąbek Karolina, Linowski MikołajAbstract:The objective of this paper is to outline a Sketch Profile of a young Polish cultural tourist based on an empirical quantitative study, which involved a group of students of Nicholaus Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK). A total of 1,139 surveys were obtained from three different departments. The Profile exhibits preferences, motivations, traits, and behaviours of a cultural tourist. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to compare the attained Profile of a student from Toruń with the Profile of a student from Poznań already presented by Buczkowska in 2014. The comparison of these two Profiles seeks to establish similarities and differences in attitudes, preferences, and behaviours of young adults (tourists) studying in different cities. The study may later be extended to other social environments. The research indicated a considerable similarity in behaviours and preferences of both surveyed groups, which could lead to a conclusion that Polish students as a social group exhibit traits characteristic of cultural tourists. It may also mean that learning about culture(s), as well as experiencing it, is of great importance in their travels. For that matter, this comparative study signals the need for further analysis of tourists with the use of the same survey instrument

Diging simulation of a narrow trench
IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2016Co-Authors: D G Anghelache, A M GoantaAbstract:In this paper, we realized digging process simulation for a narrow trench using special equipment located at a mini excavator. These types of machines digging perform the longitudinal direction to the direction of travel, making trenches with widths of 0.4 m and depths of 3.5 -7.0 m. These are necessary for the location of underground cables or draining water in agriculture. For Parametric modelling of parts included in ensemble has used software from Siemens NX 7.5, we produce Sketches of each piece, using following commands: Sketch, Profile (Line), Arc, Circle, Quick Trim Quick Extend, Constraints. Depending on the layout of each piece can also use other commands such as: Chamfer, Rotate, Mirror Curve, Offset Curve, etc. After completion of Sketch and dimensioning commands was: Extrude, Revolve, and at this stage the play may various modifications such as drilling, removal of certain volumes of piece showing various forms or change the appearance of surfaces (thread cutting, bevelling). This paper was realized with this parametric modelling software because presents major advantages including: control over the design, making design speed and increasing productivity; increasing product quality, reducing design risk recovery and time work, less human effort and reduced financial resources throughout the process.
