Stroke Patients’ Acceptance of a Smart Garment for Supporting Upper Extremity Rehabilitation
IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine, 2018Co-Authors: Qi Wang, Annick Timmermans, Jifeng Rong, Li Ding, Li Xiong, Wei Chen, Panos MarkopoulosAbstract:The objective is to evaluate to which extent that Zishi a Garment equipped with sensors that can support posture monitoring can be used in upper extremity rehabilitation training of stroke patients. Seventeen stroke survivors (mean age: 55 years old, SD =13.5) were recruited in three hospitals in Shanghai. Patients performed 4 tasks (analytical shoulder flexion, functional shoulder flexion placing a cooking pot, analytical flexion in the scapular plane, and functional flexion in the scapular plane placing a bottle of water) with guided feedback on a tablet that was provided through inertial sensors embedded in the Zishi system at the scapula and the thoracic spine region. After performing the training tasks, patients completed four questionnaires for assessing their motivation, their acceptance of the system, its credibility, and usability. The study participants were highly motivated to train with Zishi and the system was rated high usability, while the subjects had moderate confidence with technology supported training in comparison with the training with therapists. The patients respond positively to using Zishi to support rehabilitation training in a clinical setting. Further developments need to address more on engaging and adaptive feedback. This paper paves the way for larger scale effectiveness studies.

zishi a Smart Garment for posture monitoring
Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2016Co-Authors: Qi Wang, Marina Toeters, Annick Timmermans, Wei Chen, Panos MarkopoulosAbstract:Zishi is a Garment designed to support posture monitoring for the purposes of rehabilitation training. It has been designed with attention to presenting accurate and informative feedback to patients regarding their thoracic and shoulder posture as well as comfort, ease of use, wearability and aesthetics. Zishi can be useful during rehabilitation training for a variety of patient groups. So far, we have been concerned with two broad training scenarios a) for arm-hand (neurological) rehabilitation training after stroke or for MS and spinal cord injury patients. B) for shoulder patients. Zishi consists of a Garment integrated with Smart textiles and wearable electronics. It presents real-time feedback as a vibration delivered through the Garment, visual and audio instructions through android-hand held device (Smartphone or tablet).

Smart Garment design for rehabilitation
NeuroRehabilitation, 2014Co-Authors: Qi Wang, Wei Chen, Panos MarkopoulosAbstract:During rehabilitation training posture monitoring is very important for enhancing training effectiveness. This article presents the design and implementation of a Smart rehabilitation Garment (SRG) to support posture correction. The Garment the design and implementation of a Smart rehabilitation Garment (SRG) to support posture correction. The Garment has been designed to supports posture monitoring feedback, during training. The Garment consists of accelerometers in various positions with Smart textile integration, controlled by a Lilypad Arduino processor which also controls vibrator motors that provide tactile feedback to patients. The SRG is driven by a software application running on a Smartphone or personal computer by Bluetooth, which presents fine grain feedback, and training results and reminders to patients. In this paper we focus on the sensing modules’ placements and embedded design based on the integration of Smart textiles. This work places particular emphasis on having a practical, wearable, and aesthetic device, as these are crucial elements for making the device useful in context and accepted by its users.

Hubungan Antara Komitmen Organisasi Dengan Kinerja Karyawan PT. Eco Smart Garment Indonesia Boyolali
2021Co-Authors: Pangeran Buana KamillullahAbstract:This study aims to determine the relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance. The subjects of this study were 50 employees of PT Eco Smart Garment Indonesia Boyolali. The sampling technique used in this study was quota sampling. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection tool uses a scale, namely the scale of organizational commitment and the scale of employee performance. Data analysis was performed by using Product Moment analysis using SPSS 16.0 for windows. The results showed that the correlation coefficient (r) was 0.3870, with sig. (2-tailed) of p = 0.003 (p ≤ 0.01), which means that there is a very significant positive relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance. A very significant positive relationship in this study shows that the higher the employee's organizational commitment, the higher the employee's performance. Likewise, the lower the employee's organizational commitment, the lower the employee's performance. The category of organizational commitment is classified as moderate with an empirical mean (RE) of 55.42 and a hypothetical average (RH) of 50, while the employee performance category is classified as sufficient with an empiric average (RE) of 107.56 and a hypothetical average (RH) of 100. Effective contribution The two variables are indicated by the determinant coefficient of r2 = (0.387) 2, which means that the organizational commitment variable affects the employee performance variable by 14.97% and the remaining 85.03% is influenced by other factors besides organizational commitment. Keywords: organizational commitment, employee performanc
