estimation of relations between point bearing loads and settlements of bored precast piles using Soil Boring log informations
Soils and Foundations, 1998Co-Authors: Hiroaki Nagaoka, Masahiro YamazakiAbstract:A new estimation method is proposed for the relationship of the point bearing loads and point settlements of bored precast piles installed in sandy supporting strata by preBoring or inner excavation. The method is derived using analyses by finite element method, back-analyses by neural network and regression analyses. The piles have widened holes at the pile points which are filled with cement milk. Nomographs are prepred and, if the diameter of the widened part, embedded length of the part into the supporting stratum, N-value and effective overburden pressure on the surface of the stratum are given, we can estimate the relations by manual calculation.

Improving Growth of Street Trees by Boring the Rhizo$pheric Soil for Aeration
2005Co-Authors: Zhang Guang-zengAbstract:The rhizospheric environment of street trees is a main factor that weakens the growth potential of street trees. In order to improve aeration, water content and the nutrients in the Soil, Boring the rhizospher Soil around the root system to aerate the Soil and to supplement nutrition. Results indicated that after the Boring treatment the leaf thickness was increased and the leaf color was intensified and that the water content of the leaves was relatively high, the new tips developed vigorously and the leaves quickly recovered from disease spots, however, the Boring treatment was not the main factor causing changes of the CO2 and O2 concentration in Soil.

Geographical Information System of Soil Investigation Data for Construction Purposes
Advanced Materials Research, 2011Co-Authors: Prapat Uthayopas, Chalermkiat Wongvanichtawee, Prayooth BhundularpAbstract:Field Soil investigation prior to the foundation design of any structure is a must for the design engineer. Since the cost of such operation is rather high, then it is sometimes impractical. The design and the preliminary cost estimation of the construction are then impossible to be prepared. This paper applies Geographical Information System – GIS via Google earth to all over Bangkok area thus enables engineer to retrieve the physical characteristics of Soil layers from the existing Soil data. In addition, utilizing the feature of Google earth can be illustrated more visibility in the required position of Boring log and position of retrieved Soil Boring log data. Moreover, it can be applied to everywhere around the world.
