silver coordination polymers with isonicotinic acid derived short polyethylene glycol synthesis structures anion effect and Solution Behavior
Inorganica Chimica Acta, 2013Co-Authors: Katharina M. Fromm, Jorge L. Sague, Adeline Y. RobinAbstract:Abstract Silver coordination compounds and one-dimensional polymers have been studied, using a linear, flexible N-donor ligand. The solid state structures are well known and show panoply of different structures including a large number of polymorphism, pseudo-polymorphism and isomers. We have studied these structures under the influence of anions, solvents and crystallization conditions, studying also some Solution effects. We here present an overview with highlights of some case studies of the synthesis, structures, anion and solvent effects as well as Solution Behavior during formation of silver coordination polymers. Finally, we will give an outlook on the potential applications of these materials.

atomic structure of zr cu glassy alloys and detection of deviations from ideal Solution Behavior with al addition by x ray diffraction using synchrotron light in transmission
Applied Physics Letters, 2009Co-Authors: Konstantinos Georgarakis, A. Lemoulec, Alain Reza Yavari, Masayuki Satta, Mihai Stoica, Dmitri V Louzguineluzgin, J. Antonowicz, G. Vaughan, Yan Li, Akihisa InoueAbstract:The atomic structure of Zr–Cu binary amorphous alloys was studied using real space pair distribution functions derived from x-ray diffraction. The structure can be modeled by an ideal Solution approximation because of relatively weak Cu–Zr atomic interactions. Addition of Al to Zr–Cu metallic glasses modifies the atomic structure in the short and medium range order because of the strongly attractive interaction between Al and Zr atoms. These interactions generate strong deviations from the ideal Solution Behavior.

Effect of electropulsing treatment on solid Solution Behavior of an aged Mg alloy AZ61 strip
Journal of Materials Research, 2008Co-Authors: Yanbin Jiang, Guoyi Tang, Lei Guan, Shaonan Wang, Chan-hung Shek, Yaohua ZhuAbstract:The effect of electropulsing treatment (EPT) on the Solution Behavior of aged Mg alloy AZ61 strip was investigated using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD). It was found that EPT accelerated tremendously the disSolution of β phase into α matrix in an aged Mg alloy AZ61 strip. The disSolution of β phase took place in less than 4 s at relatively low temperature under EPT, compared with that in conventional heat treatment. A mechanism for rapid solid Solution process during EPT was proposed based on the coupling of the thermal and athermal effects. The results in this investigation indicated that EPT played an important role in the nonequilibrium microstructural evolution in the alloy. It is supposed that EPT can provide a highly efficient approach for solid Solution treatment of the alloy.
