Analysis of Energy Efficiency of Staple Fiber Unit and A Study on Energy Saving Measures
2010Co-Authors: Sinopec LuoyangAbstract:Sinopec Luoyang Company′s 100kt/a polyester Staple Fiber unit uses Dupont′s proprietary direct spinning process and went into operation in 2000.Statistics of the unit′s energy consumption between January and August 2010,the main materials consumed by the unit were 3.5MPa steam,1.0MPa steam,electricity and water.In energy consumption,the share of 3.5MPa steam consumed was on the high side,accounting for 57.51% of the unit′s total energy consumption.Electricity consumption accounted for about 36.61% of the unit′s total energy consumption.Water consumed included desalting water,circulating water,chilled water and fresh water.The share of water consumption was not large.Steam consumption can be reduced by optimizing process and operation,strengthening equipment management and implementing fine management of energy saving.Electricity consumption can be effectively reduced by adjusting the allocation of ambient illumination and strengthening the management of intermittent power-consuming equipment.The consumption of desalting water and circulating water can be reduced by adjusting some parameters while ensuring all indices of products meet process requirements.Maintaining a stable operation of the unit and maximizing the unit′s production are also effective approaches to saving energy for the unit.After the above measures were taken,the unit′s overall energy consumption was 117.97kg of oil equivalent per ton of feedstock between January and August 2010,down 1.72% from the company′s annual energy consumption control target of 120kg of oil equivalent per ton of feedstock.

Application of spinning finishes in large-capacity polyester Staple Fiber production

These finishes were applied in a 100 kt/a polyester Staple Fiber plant. The results showed that the spinning finish TDSL-2005A/B which had fairly good gliding and cohesive properties and favorable comprehensive performance can efficiently improve the moisture content of the obtained Fiber,prolong doffing time,decrease breaks and roller wraps in drawing stage. The obtained Fiber had excellent quality which ensured that the localization of spinning finishes for large-capacity polyester Staple Fiber plants can be realized.

Discussion of capacity expansion of 150 t/d PET Staple Fiber plant
China Synthetic Fiber Industry, 2005Co-Authors: Sinopec LuoyangAbstract:According to the running situation of 150 t/d PET Staple Fiber plant and the analysis of each unit, it was found that the major bottleneck lied in booster pump motor, frequeucy system, quench air unit and oiling system. The product quality stabilization were discussed after capacity expansion. The one-line production capacity can be increased by 20% for 1.56 dtex Staple Fiber through using a new 2 698 f spinneret, replacing booster pump motor and frequency system, reforming carrier box of oiling roll and appropriately elevating spinning velocity.

Production of flat cross polyester Staple Fiber

The appropriate process parameters were as followed: quenching speed 1. 2 m/min and height 60 mm, spinning temperature 292℃ and speed 1 100 m/min, total draw ratio 3. 08 , crimping temperature 80℃, oil pick-up about 0. 2% , tension-setting temperature 160℃. The produced Fiber had profile degree above 45% and exhibited qualified properties.

Discussion of spinning process of fine denier hygroscopic polyester Staple Fiber

The spinning process of the fine denier hygroscopic PET Staple Fiber was discussed. The results showed that the fine denier hygroscopic PET Staple Fibers of 0. 89 dtex with circular cross section and 1. 11 dtex with trilobal cross section could be produced with the breaking strength 4. 64 c N / dtex and 4. 81 c N / dtex,elongation at break 22. 1% and 34. 2%,crimp rate 11. 9% and 11. 1%,dry hot shrinkage 9. 2% and 9. 8%,specific resistance 5. 2 × 108 and 6. 4 × 107Ω·cm,moisture regain 0. 56% and 0. 38%,respectively,when the process conditions were as followed: a drying unit combining a fluidized bed and a filling drying tower for modified PET chips,drying tower temperature 140- 150 ℃,drying time about 4 h,moisture content of chips below 30 μg / g,circular or trilobal spinneret holes,spinning temperature 280- 285 ℃,spinning velocity 1 320- 1 370 m / min and 980- 1 300 m / min,quenching air temperature 26- 29 ℃ and 21- 24 ℃,air speed 0. 95- 1. 05 m / s and 1. 0- 1. 1 m / s,heat setting temperature 170- 180℃,total draw ratio 3. 5- 3. 6,crimping temperature 65- 80℃,production speed 135- 145 m / min and 130- 160 m / min.

Determination of dyeing saturation value of ECDP Staple Fiber
China Synthetic Fiber Industry, 2013Co-Authors: Sinopec TianjinAbstract:An easy cationic dyeable polyester(ECDP) Staple Fiber was dyed with methylene blue dyestuff.The effects of pH value,dyeing temperature,heat preservation time and dyestuff concentration of dye bath on the dyeing saturation value(Sf) of the Fiber were discussed.The results showed that the initial dyeing temperature was 50 ℃ and the dye bath temperature was heated from 50 ℃ to 80 ℃ at the rate of 2 ℃/min,continuously to 100℃ at the rate of 0.5 ℃/min and was kept at 100 ℃ for 120 min;ECDP Staple Fiber had Sf of 8.4 when the pH value of dye bath was 4.5-5.0 and the mass fraction of the dyestuff was 5%-9% based on the Fiber.

Spinning process of 1.67 dtex bright regular triangle polyester Staple Fiber
China Synthetic Fiber Industry, 2013Co-Authors: Sinopec TianjinAbstract:A regular triangle polyester Staple Fiber was produced from bright polyester chip with the intrinsic viscosity of 0.677 dL/g via melt spinning process.The effects of chip drying,spin formation,drawing and heat setting processes on the production and properties of the Fiber were discussed.The results showed that 1.67 dtex bright regular triangle polyester Staple Fiber can be steadily produced with clear cross section,degree of profile 55.1%,breaking strength 5.09 cN/dtex,elongation at break 28.5% and dry hot shrinkage 8.4% at 180 ℃ when the process conditions were as followed: moisture content of polyester chip less than 28 μg/g,spinning temperature 282-286 ℃,spinning speed 930-950 m/min,drawing temperature 60-70 ℃,total draw ratio 3.50-3.65.

Discussion of production process of 1.67 dtex black and flat PET Staple Fiber
China Synthetic Fiber Industry, 2013Co-Authors: Sinopec TianjinAbstract:A black and flat polyester Staple Fiber was produced by mixing superbright polyester chip with the intrinsic viscosity of 0.642 dL/g and black masterbatch.The effects of spinneret design and spinning process parameters on the Fiber properties were discussed.The results showed that the black and flat PET Staple Fiber of 1.67 dtex could be produced with the flatness of 6.5,breaking strength 4.41 cN/dtex and elongation at break 21.3% under the process conditions as followed: flat spinneret hole with length-and-width ratio of 10/1 and the length direction towards the spinneret center,7.0%-8.0% black masterbatch by mass fraction,spinning temperature 284-286 ℃,spinning speed 850 m/min,circular quench air temperature 25 ℃ and speed 1.20 m/min,drawing temperature 80-85 ℃,draw ratio 3.40-3.55,crimping temperature 85 ℃ for after-processing stage.

Spinning process of 1.56 dtex cationic dyeable hollow polyester Staple Fiber
China Synthetic Fiber Industry, 2011Co-Authors: Sinopec TianjinAbstract:A cationic dyeable hollow polyester Staple Fiber of 1.56 dtex was produced from cationic dyeable chips via melt spinning process.The effect of spinning parameters on the production and properties of the Fiber was discussed.The results showed that the spinning process was smooth and stable and the resulted Fiber had fairly good hollow formation and excellent physical index including breaking strength 3.50 cN/dtex,elongation at break 24%and hollowness 15%when the conditions were as followed: moisture content of dried chips below 30μg/g,initial pressure of spinpack 10.5 - 12.0 MPa,spinning temperature 278 - 283℃,single-hole extrusion rate 0.39 - 0.45 g/min,spinning speed 1 100-1 250 m/min,circular air speed 0.9-1.1 m/s and temperature 24-27℃.

Research on the Properties of Special PET Staple Fiber for the Production of Spunlaced Nonwovens
Advanced Textile Technology, 2010Co-Authors: Jin Xiang-yuAbstract:The structures and properties of the common cotton-type PET Staple Fiber,general hydrophilic and high hydrophilic PET Staple Fiber for the production of spunlaced nonwovens were analyzed.The study result shows that some properties of PET Staple Fiber such as surface morphology,friction property,specific resistance and absorbability were improved after treating by hydrophilic finish.At last,the application characteristic of these three kinds of PET Staple Fibers in the spunlaced nonwoven products were also introduced.

Scale formation and industrialized solution for wastewater from viscose Staple Fiber production

The major sources for scale-forming ion,sulfate radical and calcium ion,in sewage are discussed. The analysis and comparison of the current industrial control methods are performed. The optimal industrial solution for scale formation of wastewater from viscose Staple Fiber production is proposed. It involves exclusive collection of acidic scouring water from practice spinning of viscose Staple Fiber,neutralization with lime and mixing with the other drainage. After the treatment,the scaling concentration can be effectively avoided and the waste hardness value is controlled at 350 mg / L. This method has the low operation cost and good industrial application prospect.
