  • a comparative analysis of the geometrical surface texture of a real and virtual model of a tooth flank of a cylindrical gear
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2008
    Co-Authors: Jacek Michalski, L Skoczylas
    Abstract:

The paper presents the methodology of modelling tooth flanks of cylindrical gears in the CAD environment. The modelling consists in a computer simulation of gear generation. A model of tooth flanks is an envelope surface of a family of envelopes that originates from the rolling motion of a solid tool model in relation to a solid model of the cylindrical gear. The surface Stereometry and topography of the tooth flanks, hobbed and chiselled by Fellows method, are compared to their numerical models. Metrological measurements of the real gears were carried out using a coordinated measuring machine and a two-dimensional profilometer. A computer simulation of the gear generation was performed in the Mechanical Desktop environment.

  • microsurgical removal of deep vascular malformations using sonar Stereometry
    Ultraschall in Der Medizin, 2008
    Co-Authors: H Reinhardt, G A Horstmann, O Gratzl
    Abstract:

The advantages of a new, dynamic sonar technology in open stereotactic microsurgery are demonstrated by means of three surgical procedures for deep-seated vascular malformations that are not easy of access. With this method, targets can be aimed at without using rigid, obstructive pointing devices as in conventional stereotaxy. On the contrary, it is possible to take advantage of preformed anatomical spaces reaching the lesion most carefully by means of light-weight, free-hand on-target instruments. The spatial information, correlated with a CT data set, is displayed in real time with an accuracy of +/- 1 mm. Additional image data from MR and digital angiography can be used interactively.

  • sonic Stereometry in microsurgical procedures for deep seated brain tumors and vascular malformations
    Neurosurgery, 1993
    Co-Authors: Hans F Reinhardt, G A Horstmann, O Gratzl
    Abstract:

A frameless computerized navigating system was successfully employed in 20 cases of open microsurgical operations on deep-seated brain tumors and vascular malformations. Localization in space was made by measuring the traveling time of sonic waves (24 kHz) in air. This allowed the construction of mechanically simple, lightweight freehand targeting instruments. The tips can be localized with a measuring accuracy of +/- 1 mm intracranially on the basis of computed tomographic scans. This thoroughly redesigned sonic stereometrical device is being optimized for everyday use; magnetic resonance imaging, digital substraction angiography, and other diagnostic modalities will be implemented. Some perspectives on "computer-aided (neuro)surgery" are discussed.

  • Stereometry study of septomarginal trabecula in equines
    Journal of Veterinary Advances, 2015
Co-Authors: Fernanda Rodrigues Agreste, Dos Santos
    Abstract:

There were studied in 30 heart horses, with age between two and six years, 18 males and 12 females without history of cardiac problems, the septomarginal trabecula which were classified in number, dimension, constitution and tissue organization in order to provide data to morphophysiological studies and to surgical clinic. Were removed fragments from the middle third of the trabecular structures and subsequently fixed in Bouin solution for 24 hours. The fragments of trabecula were subjected to conventional histological technique, cut to a thickness of 5 μm and stained with modified Mallory’s trichrome. The septomarginales trabecules, varied macroscopically in six types of insertion, being in simple form (13.33%), with double form (26.67%), triple form (16.67%), quadruple form (10%), branched form (16.67%) and irregular form (16.67%). Microscopically the septomarginales trabecules showed constituted of striated muscle tissue (69.37%), connective tissue (25.27%), cardiac conduction myofibers (5.33%) and discrete number of vessels. Considering the results, it was concluded that in the equine septomarginal trabecula have different proportions between the constituent tissues and forms of insertion, establishing a standard of proper arrangement for the species.

  • estudo esteriometrico da trabecula septomarginal em javali sus scrofa Stereometry study in wild boar sus scrofa of septomarginal trabecula
    Bioscience Journal, 2014
Co-Authors: Pedro Primo Bombonato, Fernanda Rodrigues Agreste, Naif Salomao, Arani Nanci Bonfim Mariana, Vicente Borelli, Andre Santos Leonardo
