Therefore, recognition and diagnosis in the endoscopic stage and its confirmation in a pathological examination will be critical. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between endoscopic and histopathological findings in the patients with Stomach Lesion. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 350 patients who referred to endoscopy center in Firoozgar Hospital were selected from 2016 to 2017. The Stomach endoscopy was performed on various parts including; fundus, body (lesser and greater curvatures) and antrum, and pathological examination was performed on biopsy samples. The checklist was used to record patients’ age and gender. Data were analyzed by t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient. Findings: The mean age of patients was 51±6 years and 207 patients (59.1%) were male. The correlation between pathologic and endoscopic results for antrum, body and fundus were 0.62, 0.56 and 0.46 respectively. Also, the significant correlation between endoscopy and histopathology was found (P<0.001). Conclusion: The results indicated that additional endoscopy reports and histopathological studies are required to achieve a better outcome for an accurate diagnosis. Also, the highest and lowest correlations between endoscopic and histopathological results were observed in the fundus and antrum, respectively

We determined gastric hemodynamics and gastric functions during anaphylactic hypotension, as compared to hypotension induced by hemorrhage or sodium nitroprusside (SNP) in anesthetized and ovalbumin-sensitized Sprague–Dawley rats. Systemic arterial pressure, portal venous pressure, and gastric arterial blood flow were measured, and gastric vascular resistance (GVR) was determined. Separately, the intragastric pressure (IGP) and gastric effluent, as a measure of gastric flux, were continuously measured. During anaphylaxis, GVR decreased only transiently at 0.5 min, followed by an increase. IGP increased markedly, while gastric flux decreased. During hemorrhage, GVR and IGP increased, while gastric flux did not change. When SNP was injected, both GVR and IGP decreased and gastric flux increased only just after injection. In conclusion, gastric vasodilatation occurs only transiently after antigen injection, and gastric motility increases, but gastric emptying deceases during anaphylactic hypotension in anesthetized rats.

A Case of Infiltrating Lobular Carcinoma of the Breast with Gastric Metastasis 22 Years after Initial Surgery

We report a case of late gastric metastasis from previous infiltrating lobular carcinoma of the breast. The patient had extended disease-free interval of 22 years prior to metastasis. Gastroscopy and fluoroscopy showed changes appearing like linitis plastica of the body of the Stomach. Computed tomography of the thorax and abdomen demonstrated pulmonary metastasis and mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Biopsy of the mediastinal lymph node and Stomach Lesion confirmed metastatic adenocarcinoma from breast carcinoma based on immunohistochemistry staining. Immunohistochemistry staining of both specimens revealed strong positivity for cytokeratin 7 and negative for cytokeratin 20
