  • A New Discrete-time Form of Optimal Tracking Differentiator
    Information & Computation, 2013
    Co-Authors: Liu X
    Abstract:

A new discrete form of optimal tracking differentiator is proposed based on the discrete method of sampling control. A zero-order holder in traditional discrete system of optimal tracking differentiator is left out, and the optimal control Synthesis Function of the new discrete system is deduced. Compared with the traditional discrete form of optimal tracking differentiator, not only the phase delay in signal filtering is reduced, but also the optimal control Synthesis Function is more abbreviated.

  • An automatic selection method and its application to key search algorithms
    Information Sciences, 1995
Co-Authors: Ki-hong Park, Jun-ichi Aoe, Masamie Shishibori, Yoshitaka Hayashi
    Abstract:

This paper proposes an automatic selection method for key search algorithms. The proposed methodology has been implemented in the KEALSE (KEy-search ALgorithm SElection) system. Key search algorithms are selected according to user's requirements through interaction with KEALSE, which bases its inferences on an evaluation table. The evaluation table contains values to estimate the performance of each key search algorithm for different searching properties. A selection algorithm for inferencing is based on a step-by-step reduction of key search algorithms and searching properties. This paper also proposes assistance facilities that consist of both a support Function and a program Synthesis Function. Experimental results show that appropriate key search algorithms are effectively selected, and the number of questions asked to select the appropriate algorithm is reduced to less than half of the total number of possible questions. The support Function is useful for the user during selection, and the program Synthesis Function fully translates a selected key search algorithm into high-level language in an average time of less than 1 hour.

  • Evolution of Nucleotide Punctuation Marks: From Structural to Linear Signals
    Frontiers in Genetics, 2017
Co-Authors: Nawal El Houmami, Herve Seligmann
    Abstract:

We present an evolutionary hypothesis assuming that signals marking nucleotide Synthesis (DNA replication and RNA transcription) evolved from multi- to unidimensional structures, and were carried over from transcription to translation. This evolutionary scenario presumes that signals combining secondary and primary nucleotide structures are evolutionary transitions. Mitochondrial replication initiation fits this scenario. Some observations reported in the literature corroborate that several signals for nucleotide Synthesis Function in translation, and vice versa. (a) Polymerase-induced frameshift mutations occur preferentially at translational termination signals (nucleotide deletion is interpreted as termination of nucleotide polymerization, paralleling the role of stop codons in translation). (b) Stem-loop hairpin presence/absence modulates codonamino acid assignments, showing that translational signals sometimes combine primary and secondary nucleotide structures (here codon and stem-loop). (c) Homopolymer nucleotide triplets (AAA, CCC, GGG, TTT) cause transcriptional and ribosomal frameshifts. Here we find in recently described human mitochondrial RNAs that systematically lack mono-,dinucleotides after each trinucleotide (delRNAs) that delRNA triplets include 2x more homopolymers than mitogenome regions not covered by delRNA. Further analyses of delRNAs show that the natural circular code X (a little-known group of 20 translational signals enabling ribosomal frame retrieval consisting of 20 codons \AAC, AAT, ACC, ATC, ATT, CAG, CTC, CTG, GAA, GAC, GAG, GAT, GCC, GGC, GGT, GTA, GTC, GTT, TAC, TTC\ universally overrepresented in coding versus other frames of gene sequences), regulates frameshift in transcription and translation. This dual transcription and translation role confirms for X the hypothesis that translational signals were carried over from transcriptional signals.

  • mechanism of rna Synthesis initiation by the vesicular stomatitis virus polymerase
    The EMBO Journal, 2012
Co-Authors: Benjamin Morin, Amal A Rahmeh, Sean P J Whelan
    Abstract:

The minimal RNA Synthesis machinery of non-segmented negative-strand RNA viruses comprises a genomic RNA encased within a nucleocapsid protein (N-RNA), and associated with the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRP). The RdRP is contained within a viral large (L) protein, which associates with N-RNA through a phosphoprotein (P). Here, we define that vesicular stomatitis virus L initiates Synthesis via a de-novo mechanism that does not require N or P, but depends on a high concentration of the first two nucleotides and specific template requirements. Purified L copies a template devoid of N, and P stimulates L initiation and processivity. Full processivity of the polymerase requires the template-associated N protein. This work provides new mechanistic insights into the workings of a minimal RNA Synthesis machine shared by a broad group of important human, animal and plant pathogens, and defines a mechanism by which specific inhibitors of RNA Synthesis Function.

  • m-Order Time Optimal Control Synthesis Function of Discrete System
    arXiv: Optimization and Control, 2019
    Co-Authors: Qianghui Xiao, Yang Zhang
    Abstract:

In this paper, first of all, we introduce the basic concepts of generating Function in combinatorics and some combinatorial identities. In order to facilitate the understanding of m-order time optimal control Synthesis Function of discrete system (referred as m-order Synthesis Function), secondly, we introduce the derivation process and control ideas of 2nd-order Synthesis Function, and then deduce in detail the m-order Synthesis Function by means of generating Function. By use of the m-order tracking-form Synthesis Function with filter factor, the methods of signal extraction and its predictive compensation are presented in this paper, and their immunity and effectiveness are verified by numerical simulation.

  • m-Order Time Optimal Control Synthesis Function of Discrete System and Its Application
    arXiv: Optimization and Control, 2018
    Co-Authors: Qianghui Xiao
    Abstract:

In this paper, first of all, we introduce the basic concepts of generating Function in combinatorics and some combinatorial identities. In order to facilitate the understanding of m(greater than 1)-order time optimal control Synthesis Function of discrete system (referred as m-order Synthesis Function), secondly, we introduce the derivation process and control ideas of 2nd-order Synthesis Function fsun(), and then deduce in detail the m-order Synthesis Function by means of generating Function. By use of the m-order tracking-form Synthesis Function with filter factor, the methods of signal extraction and its predictive compensation are presented in this paper, and their immunity and effectiveness are verified by numerical simulation. In the back part of this paper, we analyze the features of various components of 2nd-order active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) technology, and then by constructing the new type structures of extended state observer (ESO) and feedback controller which satisfy the separation principle, we construct a new active disturbance rejection control theory (ADRCT) based on the m-order tracking-form Synthesis Function with filter factor. Finally, the numerical simulation shows that the new ADRCT has good immunity and robustness.
