  • tracing paul s Train of Thought in romans 6 8
    Review & Expositor, 2003
    Co-Authors: Charles H. Talbert
    Abstract:

Romans 5:12–8:39 goes over again the same basic Train of Thought covered earlier in 1:18–5:11. In both 1:18–5:11 and 5:12–8:39 the argument moves from the human condition to the divine remedy to the role of the law to ultimate salvation. This form of reasoning, repetition with variation, has roots in ancient Greco-Roman rhetoric.

  • Preparation for the Second Law
Boston Studies in the Philosophy of Science, 2000
    Co-Authors: Georg Helm
    Abstract:

    1. The further development of energetics is characterized by the fusion of ideas developed until then (Part 1) with a Train of Thought entirely foreign to them, originating with Sadi Carnot. It is true, as we have seen, that in one place this Train of Thought already finds its way into Helmholtz’s work on the conservation of force; but until Clausius and Thomson it stands in unresolved opposition to the ideas which had primarily inspired that work. It will become evident later on how fruitful and influential the resolution of this conflict turned out to be. But first we must direct our attention to the second Train of Thought considered in itself. This emerged directly from the applied mechanics of France, whose profound influence has already been described. Thus, in particular, the work generated by water in hydraulic motors, which became decisive for Carnot’s conception of the steam engine, was at that time given a wholly energetic treatment.1 The knowledge diffused among French applied scientists around 1820 determined both the advantages and the errors of Sadi Carnot’s manner of thinking. 2

  • analysis of the Train of Thought for indirect true criminal doubt on conceptual compensation of indirect true criminal
    Hebei Law Science, 2004
    Co-Authors: Zhao Xiangru
    Abstract:

The traditional Train of Thought about indirect true criminal is ,from the existence of the concept ,that is proved by"lhe theory of gap-stop" ,to its character as true criminal, then it put the concept on the basis that it exist only out of"compensation" . It is illogical. More over, the doctrine of "accomplice" most dependent on"true criminal"is wrong in itself. So it can' t provide sound Train of the Thought for the concept. But,it show light on the right Train, for from its passive can prove indirect true criminal and accomplice with a common originationtrue criminal. Then Train from the concept of true criminal to indirect true criminal is reasonable.

  • The Status Quo of Core Technology and Train of Thought of Guangdong Professional Town
Science and Technology Management Research, 2014
    Co-Authors: Wu Guoli
    Abstract:

Professional towns in Guangdong have a large-scale economic output, yet are faced with low technique and a common lack of core technology.Based on the concept of core technology, this thesis analyzed the status quo of core technology in professional town in terms of origin, category, mode of production, innovation and investment.Besides,it proposed the Train of Thought of developing scientific thinking modes, cultivating the innovation consciousness of core technology, strengthening the science research which have a contact with core technology, improving the contact of the industry the academic circles and the research filed, epitomizing strategy of introduction, assimilation and re-innovation,improving the innovation ability of the leading enterprises, breaking group's inert innovation and enlarging cultivation and employment of technicians, etc.

  • Cooperation between the default mode network and the frontal-parietal network in the production of an internal Train of Thought
    Brain research, 2011
Co-Authors: Jonathan Smallwood, Kevin S. Brown, Ben Baird, Jonathan W. Schooler
    Abstract:

The ability to generate and sustain an internal Train of Thought unrelated to external reality frees an agent from the consTraints of only acting on immediate, environmentally triggered events. The current paper proposes that such Thought is produced through cooperation between autobiographical information provided by the default mode network and a frontal-parietal control network which helps sustain and buffer internal Trains of Thought against disruption by the external world. This hypothesis explains at least two features of the literature on internally guided Thought. First, access to the top-down control system is a generally accepted prerequisite of conscious experience; this explains why activation of this system and default mode activity is often observed together during periods of internally guided Thought. Second, because the top-down attentional control system has a limited capacity, internally and externally driven streams can come into conflict, with the result that perceptual information must be denied attentional amplification if the internal stream is to be maintained. This explains why internal Thought is routinely associated with a state of perceptual decoupling, reflected in both measured anticorrelations between the default mode network and sensory areas and the manner in which task unrelated Thoughts compromise task performance. This paper offers a hypothesis that should help to consTrain and guide interpretations, investigations, and analyses of the neural processes involved in internally driven cognition.
