    Abstract:

    Services agglomeration has attracted the attention of scholars both at home and abroad,but the city Services agglomeration as a specific object does not see more.To support the theory of the positive development of Urban Services agglomeration,this empirical research uses spatial Gini coefficient to analyze the evolution of Urban Services agglomeration and regional differences by province.As it shows in the paper,Urban Service industry is agglomerating in China,but the level is not high.Different functions of different Service lead to different levels of agglomeration.The level of the producer Service's agglomeration remains high,far exceeding the level of life Service.The agglomeration in the eastern part is higher than that of the central and western regions.The level of Service industry's agglomeration in developed areas is higher than that of undeveloped regions.

    Abstract:

    This study was carried out to determine the risk factors of leptospirosis infection among local Urban Service workers in Sabah. This is a cross-sectional study involving 394 workers in Kota Kinabalu City, Sabah, conducted from February to March 2017. Information on demography, occupational exposures and environmental factors was obtained by a modified validated questionnaire. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was used to determine the prevalence of positive leptospirae. The overall figure for positive leptospirae was 9.4% (95% CI: 6.8–12.8). Urban sweepers and lorry drivers made up the highest proportion of positive leptospirae respondents, contributing 15.5% and 9.4%, respectively. The significant risk factors for positive leptospirae were older age (p-value = 0.001), higher monthly salary (p-value = 0.039), longer duration of employment (p-value = 0.011) and working as an Urban sweeper (p-value = 0.021). Leptospirae was prevalent among healthy Urban Service workers and relates to their working activities.

    Abstract:

    Abstract High speed rail (HSR) Services shorten space-time distances between cities and induce the reallocation of production resources between regions (cities). Based on the data of 25 cities in China's Yangtze River Delta region during 1995–2014, this paper uses the (continuous) difference-in-differences model to investigate the influence of HSR on Urban Service industry agglomeration. The results show that HSR has a positive effect on the Urban Service industry agglomeration of the cities located along the rail lines. Compared with cities not located along the rail lines, HSR does not weaken the Service industry agglomeration of the medium and small-sized cities that are also situated along the rail lines and around the core city. The Service intensity of HSR, which is measured by train Service frequency, also exhibits a significant effect on the Service industry agglomeration of those cities located along the rail lines. Higher levels of HSR Service intensity have a greater effect on Urban Service industry agglomeration. In addition, we further subdivide the category of Service industry into producer Service, consumer Service, and public Service industries. We find that HSR has a significant impact on producer Service industry agglomeration, but HSR's influences on consumer Service industry and public Service industry are insignificant.
