Influence of the alkali metal cation on the Fragmentation of monensin in ESI-MS/MS
2016Co-Authors: Norberto Peporine Lopes, Filipe Alex, Re Almeida-paz, Paul Jonathan GatesAbstract:The MS/MS Fragmentation of the alkali metal complexes of monensin A are studied. The increase in alkali metal ionic radii decreases the ability of the Grob-Wharton Fragmentation mechanism to occur and reduces the overall degree of frag-mentation. Conversely, the electronegativity of the metal cation is related to the number of fragment ions observed

Influence of the alkali metal cation on the Fragmentation of monensin in ESI-MS/MS Influência de cátions de metais alcalinos sobre a fragmentação de monensina em ESI-MS/MS
Universidade de São Paulo, 2006Co-Authors: Norberto Peporine Lopes, Filipe Alexandre Almeida-paz, Paul Jonathan GatesAbstract:The MS/MS Fragmentation of the alkali metal complexes of monensin A are studied. The increase in alkali metal ionic radii decreases the ability of the Grob-Wharton Fragmentation mechanism to occur and reduces the overall degree of Fragmentation.

Wharton Fragmentation based approach to the carbocyclic core of the phomoidrides
Organic Letters, 2012Co-Authors: Graham K Murphy, Naoto Hama, Aaron Bedermann, Ping Dong, Christopher M Schneider, Travis C Mcmahon, Ran N Tao, Barry M Twenter, David Spiegel, John L WoodAbstract:The carbocyclic core of the phomoidrides has been synthesized efficiently and in high yield. Key steps include a phenolic oxidation/intramolecular Diels–Alder sequence, tandem radical cyclization, and a late-stage Wharton Fragmentation of a densely functionalized isotwistane skeleton.
