METHODS: Sixty-three patients, 17 UVH (13 males, 4 females) and 46 BiVH (19 males, 27 females), were assessed at a mean age of 9.1 years (2.2 years) with an intelligence and neuropsychological test battery. Results were compared between subgroups (UVH, BiVH and a healthy control group). Associations between cognitive outcome, medical and socio-demographic factors were explored. Parents completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). RESULTS: Mean intelligence and neuropsychological scores were found within normal ranges for all diagnostic groups. Significant differences between UVH patients and controls emerged on auditory sustained and Alternating Attention, fine motor skills, visuospatial information processing, and to a lesser extent, memory performance. Parents of UVH patients reported more externalizing problems and school problems. Patient groups did not differ on neuropsychological outcome measures, nor on behavioural problems as rated by parents. CONCLUSIONS: After Fontan completion, patients at school age display intelligence scores within normal population-based ranges. However, they were found at risk for subtle shortcomings in Attention, fine motor skills, visuospatial information processing and externalizing behaviour problems. Considerations pertaining to neurobehavioural outcome in school-aged children are discussed.

When performing the CAAT, subjects were required to alternately judge two types of rules: digit and shape. A shorter time for completing the CAAT indicates better Alternating Attention. Our validation of CAAT indicated that the CAAT had the acceptable test-retest agreement, negligible practice effect, and acceptable concurrent validity. frame augmented Alternating Attention network for video question answering

Simultaneously understanding video actions with a related natural language question, and further produces accurate answer is even more challenging since it requires joint modeling information across modality. In the past few years, some studies begin to attack this problem by utilizing Attention enhanced deep neural networks. However, simple Attention mechanisms such as unidirectional Attention fail to yield a better mapping between different modalities. Moreover, none of these Video QA models explore high-level semantics in augmented video-frame level. In this paper, we augmented each frame representation with its context information by a novel feature extractor that combines the advantages of Resnet and a variant of C3D. In addition, we proposed a novel Alternating Attention network which can alternately attend frame regions, video frames and words in the question in multi-turns. This yields better joint representations of video and question, further help the deep model to discover the deeper relationship between two modalities. Our method outperforms the state-of-the-art Video QA models on two existing video question answering datasets. Further ablation studies proved that our feature extractor and the Alternating Attention mechanism can improve the performance jointly.

Alternating Attention test tealt differences between brazilian states and age groups

The participants were 3213 people who were going through the process of obtaining or renewing a Driver’s License in the states of Bahia , Mato Grosso do Sul, Parana, Santa Catarina and Sao Paulo and age from 18 to 76 years. The instrument used was the Test of Alternating Attentio (TEALT). The findings about the differences among the five Brazilian states revealed that only the state of Bahia was differentiated from Parana and Mato Grosso do Sul. The results about age group indicated that with increasing age decreases the performance in the Attention test, corroborating previous researches.
