Automatic Recognition System for Numeric Characters on Time-sharing Ammeter Dial Plate
Computer Engineering, 2005Co-Authors: Chen DequanAbstract:Research on automatic recognition for numeric characters on time-sharing Ammeter dial plate, which is the key problem for Ammeter error analysis system is presented. The difficulties preventing the correct recognition come from: decline of fixing, half character recognition and decimal calculation. An automatic recognition system for numeric characters on time-sharing Ammeter dial plate is constructed. This system uses binary transform, projecting algorithm, open algorithm, close algorithm, edge detection and Hough transform as pretreatment and puts forward two algorithms on whole character recognition and half character recognition. The experiments show that this system is robust.

AC Ammeters: B&K Precision 2831E (Part 2 of 2)
Columbia Gorge Community College, 2017Co-Authors: Pytel JimAbstract:This lecture, published by Columbia Gorge Community College, demonstrates the use of the AC Ammeter function of the B&K Precision 2831E digital multimeter. In the presentation, the Ammeter function is used to "verify the anticipated current draw of a simple single phase AC circuit." The recording runs 3:29 minutes in length and part one is available to view separately

A DC current limited Ammeter protection circuit
IEEE Transactions on Education, 1992Co-Authors: C.e. SmithAbstract:Ammeters are always connected in series in the branch where a current is measured. Unfortunately, parallel connection can destroy a meter if connected by mistake, as often happens in introductory electric circuits instructional laboratories. To protect an Ammeter from excessive currents caused by parallel connection, an op-amp/Zener diode circuit has been designed to effectively operate as a current-limited Ammeter. >
