Thirteen new species are described; the remaining 55 species are keyed, redescribed or provided with a diagnosis. Among these 37 species and eleven genera are recorded for the first time from Vietnam. The thirteen new species are: Antrocephalus neogalleriae Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n.; Brachymeria neowiebesina Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Brachymeria semirusula Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Dirhinus neoclaviger Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Epitranus narendrani van Achterberg, sp. n., Epitranus neonigriceps Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Heydoniella vietnamensis Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Megachalcis vietnamicus Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Notaspidium vietnamicum Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Oxycoryphe neotenax Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Sthulapada neopadata Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., Sthulapada vietnamensis Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n., and Tanycoryphus masii Narendran & van Achterberg, sp. n. Relata-se a primeira ocorrência de Brachymeria podagrica em pupas de Chrysomya megacephala.This study determined the species of parasitoids associated with Chrysomya megacephala, collected on bovine kidney baits, in Itumbiara, State of Goias, Brazil. The pupae were obtained by flotation. They were individually placed in gelatin capsules until the emergence of the adult flies or their parasitoids. The overall prevalence of parasitism was 18.6%. Brachymeria podagrica, Nasonia vitripennis and Pachycrepoideus vindemiae presented frequencies of 8.6%, 8.6% and 1.4%, respectively. Human feces was used as bait to collect the insects. In the study 20 pupae of Ophyra aenescens (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Muscidae) were obtained, of which 20% of the total yielded the parasitoid Brachymeria podagrica (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae).O objetivo do presente estudo é relatar a primeira ocorrência do parasitóide Brachymeria podagrica como inimigo natural de Ophyra aenescens, mosca de importância médico-sanitária. Para coleta dos insetos foi utilizado como isca fezes humanas. Obtiveram-se 20 pupas de Ophyra aenescens (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Muscidae), das quais 4 emergiram parasitóides pertencentes à espécie Brachymeria podagrica (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae), apresentando uma incidência de parasitismo de 20,0%

Parasitoids of Diptera collected in traps of different colors from Southern of Goias State / Parasitóides de Diptera coletados em armadilhas de diferentes cores no Sul do estado de Goiás

Twelve traps two as of each color were used, painted yellow, black, red, white, green and blue were used two as of each color. The pupae were obtained by the flotation method. They were individually placed in gelatin capsules until the emergency of the adult flies or their parasitoids. Between March and December 2006, 17 parasitoid specimens were collected from the yellow trap, 15 from the blue trap, 12 from the white trap, 37 from the black trap, one from the green trap and three from the red trap. The parasitoids did not present any preference for any of the trap colors (F=0.772; P=0.58). The most frequently collected parasitoid species was Brachymeria podagrica (Fabricius, 1789) (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae), with 80.0%.O objetivo desse estudo foi descrever os parasitóides de Diptera coletados em armadilhas de diferentes cores no sul do estado de Goiás. Foram utilizadas 12 armadilhas duas de cada tipo pintadas de amarelo preto, vermelho, branco, verde e azul. As pupas dos dípteros foram isoladas pelo método de flutuação, individualizadas em cápsulas de gelatina até a emergência dos parasitóides. Foram coletados no período de março a dezembro de 2006, 17 exemplares de parasitóides na armadilha amarela, 15 na armadilha azul, 12 na armadilha branca, 37 na armadilha preta, um exemplar na armadilha verde e três na armadilha vermelha. Os parasitóides não apresentaram atração por nenhuma das cores das armadilhas (F= 0,772; P=0,58). A espécie de parasitóide mais freqüente foi Brachymeria podagrica (Fabricius, 1789) (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae) com 80,0%

RodriguesAbstract:Espécies de parasitóides associados com moscas sinantrópicas foram coletadas com auxílio de iscas de fígado bovino no matadouro Alvorada em Itumbiara, Estado de Goiás, de março a dezembro de 2005. As pupas foram removidas da areia, após usar iscas de fígado como substrato para atrair as moscas. Elas foram individualizadas em cápsulas de gelatina até a emergência dos adultos de moscas ou de seus parasitóides. A prevalência total de parasitismo foi 15,3%. A freqüência absoluta, porcentagem e espécies de parasitóides coletados foram: 205 exemplares (2,3%) de Aphaereta sp., 173 (80,0%) de Brachymeria podagrica, 578 (15,7%) Nasonia vitripennis, um (0,5%) de Pachycrepoideus vindemmiae, dois (0,9%) de Spalangia sp. e um (0,5%) de Trybliographa sp. A porcentagem de parasitismo apresentada pelos parasitóides de Aphaereta sp., B. podagrica, N. vitripennis, P. vindemmiae, Spalangia sp., e Trybliographa sp. foi de 0,4%, 12,3%, 2,4%, 0,1%, 0,1% e 0,1%, respectivamente. As espécies de dípteros parasitados foram: Chrysomya albiceps, C. megacephala, Musca domestica, Oxysarcodexia thornax, Peckia chrysostoma e Sarcodexia lambens.Species of parasitoids associated with synanthropic flies were trapped by using shopped bovine liver as bites at slaughterhouse Itumbiara in the State of Goiás, from March to December 2005. Pupae were obtained by removing them from sand, after using liver baits as substract to atract flies. They were individually placed in gelatin capsules until the emergency of the adult flies or their parasitoids. The overall prevalence of parasitism was 15.3%. The frequency, percentage and species of parasitoids collected were: 205 specimens (2.3%) of Aphaereta sp., 173 (80.0%) of Brachymeria podagrica, 578 (15.7%) of Nasonia vitripennis, one (0.5%) of Pachycrepoideus vindemmiae and two (0.9%) of Spalangia sp. and one (0.5%) of Trybliographa sp., respectively. The parasitoids Aphaereta sp., B. podagrica, N. vitripennis, P. vindemmiae, Spalangia sp. and Trybliographa sp. had a parasitism percentage of 0.4, 12.3, 2.4, 0.1, 0.1 and 0.1, respectively. The parasitizing diptera were: Chrysomya albiceps, C . megacephala, Musca domestica, Oxysarcodexia thornax, Peckia chrysostoma and Sarcodexia lambens

Review of Iranian Chalcididae (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) with nomenclatural notes

The following new synonymies are proposed: Brachymeria argenteopilosa (Radosz-kowski, 1876) = Chalcis persica Masi, 1824 syn. nov., Brachymeria albicrus (Klug, 1834) = Chalcis rufigaster Masi, 1924 syn. nov. and Bucekia differens (Boucek, 1949) = B. Bouceki Nikol'skaya, 1960 syn. nov. The status of Lasiochalcidia [described under Euchalcis] igiliensis (Masi, 1916) is resurrected and is removed from synonymy with L. pubescens (Klug). Lectotypes are designated for Chalcis kassalensis Kirby, 1886, Halticella subelongata Kohl, 1906 and Chalcis pubescens Klug, 1834. Two genera, Bucekia Steffan, 1951 and Euchalcis Dufour, 1861, as well as eight species, Brachymeria kassalensis (Kirby, 1886), Dirhinus anthracia Walker, 1846, Antrocephalus subelongatus (Kohl, 1906), Bucekia differens (Boucek, 1949), Euchalcis unicolor (Lucas, 1871), L. rubripes (Kieffer, 1899), Psilochalcis dentata (Steffan, 1951) and P. subdola (Nikol'skaya, 1960), are new records for the Iranian insect fauna. A new host is recorded for E. unicolor. A list of 68 species in 18 genera of Chalcididae known from Iran is also included and some previous erroneous records are discussed
