Study on the Acute Toxicity of Bluestone and Potassium Permanganate to the Larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River
Journal of Anhui Agricultural Sciences, 2009Co-Authors: Zhang Yue-qinAbstract:[Objective] The research aimed to study the acute toxicity of medication to the larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River [Method] Under room temperature and hydrostatic conditions,using the larva of Carassius auratus as test biology and mortality rate as an index,the acute toxicity of bluestone and potassium permanganate to the larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River was studied.[Result] At the same exposure time,the mortality rate of larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River increased with the increasing of bluestone and potassium permanganate concentration.The semi-lethal concentration(LC50) of bluestone to larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River at 24 h,48 h and 96 h were 3.8,2.5 and 1.6 mg/L resp.and its safe concentration(SC) was 0.16 mg/L.The semi-lethal concentration(LC50) of potassium permanganate to larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River at 24 h,48 h and 96 h were 5.14,3.95,3.04 mg/L resp and its safe concentration(SC) was 0.304 mg/L.According to the experimental results,the prevention and treatment of diseases with bluestone and potassium permanganate to larva of Carassius auratus in Qihe River would be used cautiously,or their concentrations should be decreased.

The complete mitogenome of natural triploid Carassius auratus in Qihe River

In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Carassius auratus in Qihe River has been obtained with PCR. The gene composition and arrangement of mitochondrial genome sequence of this species are similar to most of other vertebrates', which contains 22 tRNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, and a non-coding control region with total length of 16,580 bp. Most of genes are encoded on Heavy-Strand (H-strand), exclude eight tRNA and ND6 genes, which are encoded on Light-Strand (L-strand). The bias of G and C has been found in different regions/genes and different statistic results. The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of this species would contribute to better understand population genetics, conservation, and the evolution of natural triploid.

Effects of potassium permanganate on respiratory movement in Carassius auratus under different conditions.
Animal Husbandry and Feed Science, 2010Co-Authors: Xie Song, Chen LiweiAbstract:[Objective] To observe the effects of potassium permanganate on respiratory rate and cough frequency of Carassius auratus in different conditions. [Method] According to the simple factor design of experiment, the respiratory rate and cough frequency of Carassius auratus were recorded. The factors included concentration of potassium permanganate, temperature, duration time and pH values. [Result] The respiratory rate and cough frequency of Carassius auratus were increased and then decreased with the increasing concentrations of potassium permanganate, rising temperature, and duration of medicated bath. The Carassius auratus had the best respiratory function at pH 7.0. The strong acid and strong alkali caused lesions and inhibited the respiratory function of Carassius auratus. [Conclusion] The potassium permanganate at different concentrations may have an impact on the cough frequency and respiratory rate of Carassius auratus.
