Evaluation of Cardiac Function based on ventricular pressure-volume relationships during assistance with a rotary blood pump

In such cases, evaluation of the recovery level of the native heart provides useful information to improve the clinical strategy and decide adequate timing for removing of the RBP. In contrast, the indices for Cardiac Function have been studied. However, most of them do not consider the assistance with the RBP. In this study, we aimed at evaluating whether Emax, which is an index for Cardiac Function based on the pressure-volume relationships, is still valid during assistance with the RBP from an animal experiment. In the acute animal experiment with an adult goat, we measured pressure-volume (P-V) loops while Cardiac Function was normal, augmented or diminished. The experimental results revealed that there were typical differences in the shapes of P-V loops when the Cardiac Function was altered, and Emax can still be used as an index for the Cardiac Function even if the assistance with the RBP is ongoing

Many investigators have pointed out that the analysis of heart rate variability in particular is important in the analysis of autonomic nerve and Cardiac Function evaluation. Heart rate variability shows nonlinear behavior. However, until the present, many reports have been premised on linearity; linear correlation by frequency analysis has been used by many studies. However, in terms of this methodology, there is a problem applying it to the nonlinear living body. Therefore, fractal and chaos methodology has been used. The ascertainment of Cardiac Function has become important in allowing the clinical stage of a ventricular assist system to be successful. The purpose of this study was Cardiac Function evaluation by a methodology that was premised on nonlinearity. Chaos and fractal theory was used as a nonlinear dynamic theory. As a methodology of measurement, the volume of the left ventricle was used rather than an electrocardiogram, the waveform of arterial blood pressure. The volume was measured using acoustic quantification (AQ) ultrasonic echocardiography. Using these methodologies, the time series of many patients were analyzed. For example, drug administration was attempted in this study, and it was found that some drugs like ACE inhibitors showed a significant effect upon nonlinear dynamics in the cardiovascular system. The result, which attempted Cardiac Function evaluation by these various methodologies, is reported.

Effect of Fluvastatin on Cardiac Function and Ventricular Remodeling in Diabetic Rats
Journal of Ningxia Medical University, 2020Co-Authors: Liu Hong-binAbstract:Objective To observe the effects of fluvastatin on Cardiac Function and ventricular remodeling in diabetic rats.Methods Diabetic model was established by administration of steptozotocin intraperitoneally in SD rats to observe the effects of fluvastatin and combined insulin therapy on body weight,blood sugar,24hours metabolism,Cardiac Function and ventricular remodeling of diabetic rats.Results There were no significant effects of fluvastatin on body weight,blood sugar and 24hours metabolism on diabetic rats(P0.05),however,fluvastatin improved the parameters of ECG,Cardiac Function and ventricular remodeling in diabetic rats(P0.05).Conclusion Fluvastatin has a protective effect on myocardiopathy in diabetic rats.

Assessment of fetal Cardiac Function with echocardiography.

The concept of biventricular combined Cardiac output is necessary to understand and assess the fetal Cardiac Function. Fetal Cardiac Function has been estimated using echocardiographic methods such as M-mode, B-mode and pulsed wave Doppler. In addition, recent studies have reported the utility of tissue Doppler imaging in fetal echocardiography. However, parameters for fetal Cardiac Function remain to be established. Recently, we developed two novel techniques for assessing fetal Cardiac Function: an automatic fractional shortening method and E/e' determination using the dual-gate Doppler method. These two techniques are expected to be reliable and useful for assessing the fetal status in various pathological conditions.

Relationship between Cardiac Function and angiogenesis after rat myocardial infarction
2020Co-Authors: Zuo Hong-bAbstract:Objective To explore the relationship between changes of heart Function and angiogenesis after myocardial infarction,and provide morphological reference for clinical treatment of myocardial infarction. Methods Acute myoCardiac infarction( AMI) model was established with Sprague-Dawley rats by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery. Cardiac Function at different weeks after AMI was evaluated by echocardiography. The change of Ⅷ factor and vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF) expression at the infarction edge in rats hearts at each week after AMI was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting. Results The Cardiac Function of 1W after myocardial infarction was worst,Cardiac Function was improved during 2 weeks and 3weeks,but reduced at the 4th week; Ⅷ factor and VEGF in post-myocardial infarction 1 week,2 weeks were highly expressed. Expression of both factors began to decrease at the 3rd week. At the 4th week,expression levels were close to normal. Conclusion The change of Cardiac Function after myocardial infarction is inconsistent with that of angiogenesis,early increased vascular density can not obviously improve Cardiac Function.
