Effects of Applying Selenium on Contents of Total Flavonoid, Chlorogenic Acid and Selenium in Flower of Chrysanthemum Morifolium
2010Co-Authors: Liu De-huiAbstract:In order to investigate the effects of different application does of selenium (Se) on the contents of total flavonoid, chlorogenic acid and selenium in the flower of Chrysanthemum Morifolium, a sand culture experiment was conducted. The results showed that, it promoted the plant growth and increased the contents of total flavonoid, chlorogenic acid, when Se applying doses did not exceed 2.0 mg/kg. The dry weights of flower, stem-leaf, root and the contents of total flavonoid, chlorogenic acid increased with the increase of Se applying doses, the optimal effect was obtained when Se at 2.0 mg/kg. The dry weight of flower, root and the contents of chlorogenic acid of the plants in the treatment of Se at 2.0 mg/kg were significantly higher than Se applications at 0, 0.25, 0.5 mg/kg, and the former’ contents of total flavonoid was higher than Se application at 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 4.0 mg/kg. Excessive Se applying dose, such as at 4.0 mg/kg inhibited the growth of the plants, the dry weight of flower, stem-leaf, root and the contents of total flavonoid, chlorogenic acid were lower than Se at 2.0 mg/kg. The contents of Se in flower, stem-leaf and root of Chrysanthemum Morifolium increased with the increase of Se application doses. The relationship between Se contents in stem-leaf and root of Chrysanthemum Morifolium and Se application rate is liner, while the relationship between Se content in flower(y) and Se application rate(x) fits an equation (y =-0.817 5x2 + 6.004 5x + 0.136 3). It showed that the suitable Se applying doses could significantly increase the contents of total flavonoid, chlorogenic acid and Se content in the flower. The above results provide the theoretical basis for the development of Se-enriched Chrysanthemum Morifolium and its products.

Effects of fertilization on yields and the content of total flavonoid, chlorogenic acid of Chrysanthemum Morifolium
Journal of Nanjing Agricultural University, 2007Co-Authors: Yan Guang-xuan, Liu De-huiAbstract:To study effects of fertilization on yield and active components of Chrysanthemum Morifolium,pig manure,chicken manure,rape cake,inorganic fertilizer were applied in the pot experiment as the doses as in planting base of Chinese medical herbs in Jiangsu Province.The results showed that all the fertilizers applied could improve the botanical characteristics,the biomass of Chrysanthemum Morifolium was increased significantly.Pig manure,chicken manure and rape cake could improve effectively total flavonoid,chlorogenic acid of Chrysanthemum Morifolium,among them the rape cake was dramatically increased total flavonoid and chlorogenic acid of Chrysanthemum Morifolium,and the pig manure was in the second place.

Research on Ultrasonic-assisted Extraction of Total Flavonoids from Chrysanthemum Morifolium
Journal of Anhui Agricultural Sciences, 2012Co-Authors: Lu JuanAbstract:[Objective] The research aimed to optimize the influencing factors of the ultrasonic-assisted extraction of flavonoids from Chrysanthemum Morifolium and increase the extraction rate of flavonoids.[Method] The effects of four factors(the ratio of Chrysanthemum Morifolium to liquid of ethanol,time of ultrasonic disposing,extracting time and extracting temperature) on the extraction rate of flavonoids were studied by single-factor experiment and multi-factor orthogonal test.[Result] The best extracting conditions of flavonoids by ultrasonic-assisted ethanol extraction method were as follows: material-liquid ratio of 1∶30 g/ml,ultrasonic disposing time of 50 min,extracting at 80 ℃ for 80 min.Under these conditions the extraction rate of flavonoids was up to 11.32%.[Conclusion] Optimization of the extraction conditions increase the extraction rate of flavonoids,which laid a foundation for the development and utilization of Chrysanthemum Morifolium.
