non contiguous finished genome sequence and description of Collinsella massiliensis sp nov
Standards in Genomic Sciences, 2014Co-Authors: Roshan Padmanabhan, Didier Raoult, Jeanchristophe Lagier, Gregory Dubourg, Thithien Nguyen, Carine Couderc, Morgane Rossitamisier, Aurelia Caputo, Pierreedouard FournierAbstract:Collinsella massiliensis strain GD3T is the type strain of Collinsella massiliensis sp. nov., a new species within the genus Collinsella. This strain, whose genome is described here, was isolated from the fecal flora of a 53-year-old French Caucasoid woman who had been admitted to intensive care unit for Guillain-Barre syndrome. Collinsella massiliensis is a Gram-positive, obligate anaerobic, non motile and non sporulating bacillus. Here, we describe the features of this organism, together with the complete genome sequence and annotation. The genome is 2,319,586 bp long (1 chromosome, no plasmid), exhibits a G+C content of 65.8% and contains 2,003 protein-coding and 54 RNA genes, including 1 rRNA operon.

Collinsella ihumii sp nov a new anaerobic bacterium isolated from human stool
Archives of Microbiology, 2021Co-Authors: Mariem Ben Khedher, Stephane Alibar, Didier Raoult, Pierreedouard Fournier, Fatou Samba Diouf, Guillaume Andre Durand, Florence FenollarAbstract:Strain GD8 is a new species belonging to the order Coriobacteriales that was isolated from fresh stool of a French volunteer. It is an anaerobic Gram-positive bacterium isolated from human gut microbiota. The sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA gene showed that our strain GD8 was 96.2% of similarity with Collinsella massiliensis strain An5 which was the phylogenetically related species. Its genome size is 2,836,446 bp with 64.1 mol% of G + C content. Strain GD8T (= CSUR P2019 = DSM 101062) is the type strain of the new species Collinsella ihumii sp. nov.
