    Abstract:

    Card-Not-Present (CNP) transactions taking place remotely over the Internet are becoming more prevalent. Cardholder authentication should be provided to prevent the CNP fraud resulting from the theft of stored Credit Card Numbers. To address the security problems associated with CNP transactions, the use of a virtual Card Number derived from the transaction details for the payment has been proposed, instead of the real Card Number. Since all of the virtual Card Number schemes proposed so far are based on a password shared between the Cardholder and Card issuer, transaction disputes due to the malicious behavior of one of the parties involved in the transaction cannot be resolved. In this paper, a new virtual Card Number scheme is proposed, which is associated with the Cardholder’s public key for signature verification. It provides strong Cardholder authentication and non-repudiation of the transaction without deploying a public-key infrastructure, so that the transaction dispute can be easily resolved. The proposed scheme is analyzed in terms of its security and usability, and compared with the previously proposed schemes.

    Electronic transactions have been increasing with the development of the high-speed Internet and wireless communication. However, in recent years financial corporations and mobile carriers were attacked by hackers. And large Numbers of privacy information have been leaked. In particular, in the case of Credit Card information can be misused in the online transaction, and the damage of this given to Cardholder. To prevent these problems, it has been proposed to use a virtual Card Number instead of the actual Card Number. But it has security vulnerability and requires additional security infrastructure. In this paper, we analyzed the proposed virtual Card Number schemes. and we propose a new virtual Credit Card Number scheme. In the newly proposed scheme, Cardholder generates a key pair (public key/private key) and pre-register public key to the issuer. then, Cardholder can pay no additional security infrastructure while still efficiently satisfy the security requirements.

    Abstract:

    Computer Security is one of today's hot topic and the need for conceptual models of security features have brought up a Number of proposals ranging from UML extensions to novel conceptual models. What is still missing, however, are models that focus on high-level security requirements, without forcing the modeler to immediately get down to security mechanisms. The modeling process itself should make it clear why encryption, authentication or access control are necessary, and what are the tradeoffs, if they are selected. In this paper we show that the i*/Tropos framework lacks the ability to capture these essential features and needs to be augmented. To motivate our proposal, we build upon a substantial case study - the modeling of the Secure Electronic Transactions e-commerce suites by VISA and MasterCard - to identify missing modeling features. In a nutshell, the key missing concept is the separation of the notion of offering a service (of a handling data, performing a task or fulfilling a goal) and ownership of the very same service. This separation is what makes security essential. The ability of the methodology to model a clear dependency relation between those offering a service (the merchant processing a Credit Card Number), those requesting the service (the bank debiting the payment), and those owning the very same data (the Cardholder), make security solutions emerge as a natural consequence of the modeling process.

    The paper describes a new Credit Card system, which presents a promise for us to develop a new method of protecting secret information, such as Credit Card Number, PIN and identification. Our Credit Cards are anonymous. That is, the identity of a Card holder and Credit Card information are not revealed during a payment process. One important feature of our system lies in the fact that, unlike normal electronic Credit based systems such as SET, iKP and NetCard, the involvement of the online financial institution that runs the payment system is reduced to a minimum.

    By testing a moderated mediation model, the purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating role of Credit Card self-efficacy in the relationship between Credit Card literacy and financial well-being. The authors further examine if Credit Card Number moderates this effect.,Data for the study were collected from 427 college students. The PROCESS macros in IBM SPSS Statistics 23 was used to assess the hypothesized relationships.,Credit Card literacy positively influences financial well-being through self-efficacy. However, this effect is stronger when college students own fewer Credit Cards.,Banks and Credit Card issuers, policymakers and colleges and universities should place a greater emphasis on Credit Card literacy programs that enhance students’ general understanding of Credit Card terms and conditions and confidence in their ability to effectively use and manage their Credit Cards.,To our knowledge, this is the first study to examine the relationship between Credit Card literacy, self-efficacy and financial well-being.
