Feminist Perspective towards the Legal Theory on Fisher-Women’s Legal Entity

Feminists Legal Theory is the main foundation. This theory seeks to criticise and dismantle the law by questioning the existence of laws that bring injustice to women's groups. In the Indonesian context, where the influence of patriarchal ideology and legal positivism theory is still active, the view that the law is believed to be neutral and objective has resulted in many things that discriminate and marginalise women's groups. This research presents the criticism of Law Number 7 of 2016 concerning the Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish Cultivators and Salt Cultivators for the recognition of the legal entity of fisher-women. This research is theoretical with the type of literature study focusing on ideas using a feminist perspective research approach. The results of the study indicates the that Law Number 7 of 2016 concerning the Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish Cultivators and Salt Farmers contains many weaknesses. There is a prejudice towards the work of fishers, there is a problem defining fishers because women are excluded from defining fishers, the absence of recognition of fisher-women affects the law and becomes indirect discrimination because of gender blindness and does not take into account in terms of women's experience or interests. Design and development of shovel type-spring steel furrow opener for cultivator mounted seed metering mechanism
Bibechana, 2017Co-Authors: Ajay Verma, Ankitesh ShrivastavaAbstract:The cultivator mounted seed metering mechanism consists of cultivator frame, tines, seed box, seed tubes, metering mechanism, power transmission unit, furrow opener and hitching attachments. The drawings of the developed machine were generated using CAD software and the machine was fabricated in the workshop of Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, IGAU, Raipur. Power was transmitted from ground wheel through sprocket-chain drive to the main shaft. At the average working speed of 3.8 km/h of tractor drawn cultivator, depth of operation was found 129 mm, average weed efficiency was found 76.42 %,effective field capacity was found 0.826 ha/h with field efficiency of 87.40 %. The cost of operation and energy requirement of cultivator was found to be Rs 387 per ha and 241 MJ/ha. The Energy requirement for cultivator-cum-seed drill was found to be 454.18 MJ/ha.BIBECHANA 15 (2018) 79-84

An Analytical Study on Evaluating the Performance of Developed Cultivator Mounted Seed Metering Mechanism
Science Technology and Arts Research Journal, 2015Co-Authors: Ajay Verma, Ankitesh ShrivastavaAbstract:Prototype cultivator-cum-seed drill was designed, fabricated and tested for sowing of paddy. The machine consisted of cultivator frame, tines, seed box, seed tubes, metering mechanism, power transmission unit, furrow opener and hitching attachments. The selection of materials and fabrication was done following the standard manufacturing process. The cultivator-cum-seed drill with shovel type furrow openers was tested for sowing of the paddy. The performance of the machine was evaluated considering the effect of field capacity, field efficiency, energy requirement and cost of operation in relation with conventional seed drill in the laboratory as well as in the field. The seed rate of cultivator-cum-seed drill was found to be 80.87 kg/ha and that of conventional seed drill was found to be 80.26 kg/ha.when seed drill was half filled and flute exposure was 14.9 mm & 13.8 mm. The standard deviation for inter row variation for sowing paddy with cultivator-cum-seed drill was 0.46 with CV of 1.8 % and that for conventional seed drill was 0.41 and 1.5 % respectively.The effective field capacity of the cultivator-cum seed drill was 0.537 ha/h with field efficiency of 82.8 % as compared to conventional seed drill which was 0.596 ha/h and 82.32 %. The cost of operation for cultivator-cum-seed drill was 591.08 Rs/ha and that for conventional seed drill was 535.016 Rs/ha. The Energy requirement for cultivator-cum-seed drill was found to be 454.18 MJ/ha and that for conventional seed drill was found to be 416 MJ/ha.

Wear of spring tine cultivator points in sandy loam and light clay soils in southern Poland
Soil & Tillage Research, 1999Co-Authors: Zygmunt OwsiakAbstract:Abstract Correct evaluation and forecasting of durability of soil cutting parts are the decisive factors for proper operation of agricultural machinery. During operation of Cultivators, over two-fold difference in wear of cultivator points is observed, which makes establishing of their exchange periods extremely difficult. So, there is a need to conduct some research aimed for determination of relationship between arrangement of the points in individual cultivator rows and their wear. The presented experiments were performed under authentic farm conditions during spring soil loosening and levelling operations before sowing and planting, in sandy loam and light clay soils. Changes in length and thickness of the spring tine points, wear patterns and weight loss were measured. Loss in length of spring tine points was described by a complex function of the distance travelled or by an exponential function of the distance from the measuring point to the symmetry axis of a spring tine point; loss in thickness was described by a linear function. It was found that soil type, as well as arrangement of the points in individual cultivator rows and their position in relation to the tractor wheel track, significantly influenced their wear. It was also observed that wear of spring tine points was 40–100% higher in the sandy loam soil than in the light clay soil, and that wear within a tractor wheel track was 17–40% higher than outside the track. Moreover, wear of points positioned in the first row on the cultivator frame was 26–100% higher than wear of those in the third row. The research results emphasise the need for field experiments at compare wear of spring tine points made of different materials or of different designs to take into account differences in wear due to positioning of the points on cultivator frames.

A comparative study on tillage performance of rota-cultivator (a passive – active combination tillage implement) with rotavator (an active tillage implement)

ThomasAbstract:Abstract In the present study, a rota-cultivator; a passive-active combination tillage implement (cultivator in the front and rotavator in the rear) was designed and developed. Tillage performance of rota-cultivator and rotavator alone (pure active tillage implement) was evaluated in sandy clay loam soil at a moisture content of 11 ± 0.89 % (db) and compared in terms of tillage performance index (TPI) and soil compaction below the tillage depth by varying the peripheral to forward speed ratios and depth of operation during field tests. The power take off (PTO) torque requirement to operate the rota-cultivator was found to be 28 % lesser as compared to rotavator alone but an opposite trend was found for draft, total power and fuel consumption at all experimental conditions. For both the implements, overall performance was expressed in terms of TPI comprising volume of soil tilled, reduction in soil strength and fuel energy input. The highest TPI (1.62) was found at a velocity ratio of 5.87 and 120 mm depth of operation for rota-cultivator and it was found to be higher than the TPI of rotavator at all operating conditions. Soil compaction below the tillage depth due to tractor traffic with rota-cultivator was measured to be 27 % lesser as compared to rotavator alone. The developed rota-cultivator was successfully operated with a 34 kW two wheel-drive tractor in the test soil up to a depth of 120 mm, with improved tillage performance and reduction in soil compaction due to lesser number of passes required to obtain a desired titlth as compared to the rotavator alone.
