Hidropaute
    2015
Co-Authors: Argüello Martinez, Gorky Salvador, Carchipulla Saca, Cristian Andres
    Abstract:

This thesis aims to design a mobile module with the multifunction relays, which CELEC EP HIDROPAUTE have stored in the cellars of the Mazar plant. It will minimize unscheduled downtime of the units of the Molino plant, due to a failure in protection relays, which are electromechanical and solid state, so that it replaces the relays Currently installed in the System protection unit where failure has happened. First, we did a fieldwork, it consists to obtain all information about protections System of the Molino plant both planes, equipment installed and Current protection relays’ calibrations. Furthermore, we investigated the characteristicsof the multifunction relays available in cellars of the Mazar plant, in order to select the most suitable for installation in mobile module. The design of the mobile module was developed in three stages; the first one was set multifunction relay so that its operation is as close as possible to the electromechanical relays and solid state Currently installed. The second one was performing both electrical and mechanical design of the module,so that it meets all technical requirements for a hydroelectric plant. In the third stage, the procedure to replace the Currently installed relays with mobile module with multifunction relays was made. Then we made a referential budget and timeline of the construction process. Finally, we made injection signals tests on multifunction relays in order to corroborate that the calibrations of different backup protection functions are similar to the Current Operating System protections.Ingeniero EléctricoCuenc

  • a proposal for the upgrade of the Current Operating System of the seoul s atmospheric monitoring network based on statistical analysis
Journal of Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment, 2013
Co-Authors: Minsuk Bae, Chang Hoon Jung, Young Sung Ghim, Kihyun Kim
    Abstract:

The present Operating System for the atmospheric monitoring network in the city of Seoul, Korea, has been established since the late 90s by the Korean Ministry of Environment (KMOE). In this research, it was evaluated by the multi-statistical approaches through combinations of time series analysis, correlation matrix, and multiple cluster analysis. Finally, road traffic including resuspended materials can be one of the main sources of particulate matter in the atmosphere. Based on its importance, it will be significant challenges in quantitative evaluation of its contribution to airborne concentrations. The future directions for their amendments such as a new management plan for the source of road dust (including car emissions) were devised and proposed based on the statistical judgements derived in this research.

  • energy performance analysis on segmented liquid desiccant air conditioning System for bus spray paint booths
    Journal of Cleaner Production, 2021
Co-Authors: Bowen Guan, Xiaohua Liu, Tao Zhang
    Abstract:

Abstract A paint booth is the dominant energy consumer in a manufacturing plant. Large amount of conditioned air with accurate temperature and humidity is required in the spray-paint booth to guarantee constant product quality, which implies huge energy consumption for air-conditioning. However, there has been limited research on energy-saving design for air-conditioning Systems applied in the spray-paint booth. In this study, a novel segmented liquid desiccant air-conditioning System is proposed for energy conservation in the spray-paint booths of a bus manufacturing plant. A mathematical model is built to simulate the performance of the proposed System during the cooling season. The advantages of the proposed System can be summarized in terms of the following two aspects: first, the segmented and cascaded configuration of the proposed System helps to reduce the cooling load from 2844.4 to 1078.0 kW under basic conditions when compared with the separated configuration; second, the adoption of the liquid desiccant dehumidifier helps to avoid reheating, and a reheating capacity of 630.8 kW in the Current Operating System could be saved by Operating the proposed System under basic conditions. When Operating the proposed System, a yearly primary energy saving rate of 40.7% can be achieved, while a yearly running cost saving rate of 35.6% can be achieved in this plant as compared to the Current Operating System. This study would provide valuable reference for energy-efficient air-conditioning System design for applications in spray-paint booths.
