    2021
    Co-Authors: Coellar Orellana, Janeth Karina
    Abstract:

The present investigation, centered in the case study presents the situation of an individual with multiple disabilities, associated to visual, and motor skills disabilities. In this research, the student profile is highlighted, the Educational support and an individual centered planning; all this analysis is approached within the perspective of functional Evaluation. According to Barriga (2006) the functional Educational Evaluation is an innovative strategy that allows to analyze The Educational situation of the individual, helping to recognize the student environment in a global manner, seeking strategies to improve the Educational processes. (Barriga, 2006). The investigation considers that ignoring the Educational situation of the students and the lack of teacher training may be affecting the participation of disabled people in the school. For this study it’s been used qualitative research, with descriptive and ethnographic scope, which allowed to obtain the most valuable information from a multidisciplinary team, formed by nine participants: seven professionals and direct family, having as fundamental base the student within a natural environment. By means of interviews, mapping, individual centered planning and PIAR files, it’s been gathered information that allows to characterize the Educational situation of the individual and the construction of techniques that will be used in an individual centered planning. Within the principal findings it’s been identified that an accurate Educational diagnosis works as a starting point in order to develop strategies and techniques oriented to enhance the capabilities and strength points of the child; constituting a challenge for the teachers searching for innovative and appealing methodologies that willhelp the individual in a holistic manne

    2021
    Co-Authors: Abata Quispe, Diego Geovanny
    Abstract:

The purpose of this case study is to analyze the Educational situation of a teen with Autism Spectrum Disorder associated with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, which allowed to visualize the adolescent's profile from the model of a functional Educational Evaluation and in this way recognize reasonable supports and adjustments that benefit Educational care. To carry out this case study, the different problems of the adolescent are taken into account, in the Educational field, the little participation and commitment of teachers in the knowledge and management of students with Special Educational Needs, so that there are no comprehensive curriculum adaptations, which take into account the potentials, strengths and participation of the adolescent, the family, external professionals, among others. The definition of disability, ASD and ADHD related to the Educational situation is considered as a starting point. Cross-cutting non-experimental research is presented, with a qualitative, descriptive approach, through a case study through the use of PIAR data sheets, functional Educational assessment and a survey aimed at the managers and teachers of the institution. The information collected through these instruments showed that in the school to which the adolescent belongs they do not know their Educational profile, nor has a functional Evaluation been made to identify and implement the reasonable supports and adjustments that the adolescent needs for proper inclusion in the school

  • a dynamic blocks platform based on projective augmented reality and tangible interfaces for Educational activities
SBC Journal on Interactive Systems, 2014
Co-Authors: Rafael Roberto, Daniel Freitas, Francisco Simoes, Veronica Teichrieb
    Abstract:

This paper describes a dynamic blocks platform, called ARBlocks, which is based on projective augmented reality and tangible user interfaces aiming early childhood Educational activities development. This tool was conceived specifically for children, applying design techniques to determinate the best shape, material and typography for young students. The content is displayed by projectors, which exhibit the required information only on the blocks surface using an automatic projector calibration technique. The blocks are tracked through a frame marker using the moving edges approach with multiple hypotheses to improve robustness. ARBlocks was evaluated from three different perspectives: computational, Educational and user experience. Technical results show that the platform achieves a real time frame rate and an accurate projector calibration, as well as precisely displays information over the blocks. Additionally, in the Educational Evaluation the teachers interviewed asserted that the ARBlocks has a great potential and can be a very useful tool to be used in classrooms. Regarding the user experience, both teachers and children were excited in using this system continuously.

    2021
    Co-Authors: Caicedo Montenegro Paulina
    Abstract:

This investigation is an analysis of the Educational situation of a child with syndrome Angelman who attends an education specialized center due to intellectual disability derived from syndrome. It is expected to know the situation of the girl in the field of education, as well as her inclusion following the social model of disability, for this, various assessment instruments were applied and we worked together with the family, teachers and therapists in a training low interdisciplinary. The methodology was qualitative with an interview with the family, teachers, observation of the student, with the application of PIAR cards and functional Evaluation , emphasizing the functional Educational Evaluation where it was determined that the girl has various abilities and potentialities that even At the time they were unknown because it was evaluated from the medical point of view, that is why the functional Educational Evaluation becomes important because it helps to give the necessary directions and guidance to the family so that they can see the abilities and potentials of student. It was also possible to observe that she has adequate support and reasonable adjustments in relation to her physical disability, but it is necessary to start using an alternative communication system due to the girl's communication potential. An individualized Educational plan for six months is presented with orientations for the family and professionals, as well as an alternative low-technology communication system to be applied in this case
